It is fun to do it with someone, but I prefer to do it alone, because I feel like I am getting more done when I do it alone, otherwise the workout might be longer, if training with someone |

In the gym, yes. Working out with others generally involves compromising your workouts to fit with theirs, and less time spent actually working out.
Running & cycling can be great social time though... although not swimming, as chatting whilst swimming is dangerous. |

Yes much prefer it for lots of reasons mostly because alone you get to sit between sets and not have to change plates adjust machine settings ect also if the other person isn’t as serious they often talk a lot even during your set |

As a cyclist I prefer to cycle alone, my pace and my route. That said I mix it up more now, once a month will ride with others as I find it can help push me along and make the work out harder as the natural competitive spirit kicks in |

There’s times I love to train alone , in winter wrapped up doing long slow 10-15 mile runs in forests and mountains, or on the gym doing heavy deadlifts and squats with my favourite music on.
If I’m doing cardio , short runs or boxing much prefer to train in groups and have a laugh and flirt. |

I prefer to train alone, it’s all about me and I don’t have to answer to anyone else.
Then on race day it’s nice to have a couple mates run, not with you but so you can all celebrate together at the end |

I go alone at 9pm weekdays, if you have a gym partner you start to rely on them which effects your routine, gains and much more to be honest. Go alone and you only have yourself to rely on, and the struggle feels good knowing you did it all |

I trained with a great friend a good 15 years ago when I actually went to the gym regularly. He introduced me to pyramid lifts(I hope that's the right terms for increasing or decreasing reps of the same axercise during a set), and time under tension. That was the only time I felt like I got anything out of working out with someone else. So generally, I would have preferred working out my own. |

"I train as part of a group, so there's some chat before and after a session. When I'm on the platform it's just me and the barbell. So I have best of both. " That is good to train part of a group and yes, chatting before and after is the best way as well |

Training on ye own is better but having a partner can help get the extra weight up or help assist but I prefer to train on my own then no one can fuck my routine up |

I prefer to do it alone. I can do my own thing, listen to my music and just zone out. I've never had a gym partner before though so nothing to compare really. |

Majority of times I prefer to workout alone, less distractions chatting & work at a fast pace.
Once in fortnight workout with the brother, he’s hardcore & need days to recover after lol couldn’t do this workout everyday |

I’ve trained alone and with a partner over the years. Both equally productive if you train with the right person.
Been taking my nephew recently and it’s very satisfying passing on all the years of knowledge and watching him grow! I had fuck all like that when I started out in the 80s |

To be honest there is a good and bad for both, I prefer to lift alone so I can listen to music and lift but then if I had a mate to push me on when going to failure and can also spot it a lot more better |

Yes, its good to do mindful stuff on your own! Thinking about thoughts/problems or just plain forgetting for a few hours. Getting rid of anger is very productive.
Sometimes you just have enough of people.
Groups bring a bit of competition & unity to the same goal. People are good at spotting your imperfections & suggesting ways to help you. |

Something I've often observed at the gym, is that the girls who go at it the hardest ie sweating, lifting heavy and making faces, always have the best figures.
They're almost always Eastern European too. |

I love training alone. I don't want to spend hours in the gym. Going with someone would mean lots of chatting. I want to be in and out.
So alone please. Cycling I don't mind having someone to talk to as it doesn't change much. |

I prefer to smash it out alone, more of a hit circuit, less time between sets, quicker and more effective. |

Always train alone just because I can go when I want and not have to rely on others.
Was into powerlifting a good few year back still trained alone but on PB lift days I trained with a mate who would spur me on and do my
Racking as well |

I do like to work out alone, listening to music too. Either the gym, running, cycling. Escapism.
I do enjoy the random chats you get, I'm a chatty person and I do find the gym very sterile at times. |

I do CrossFit and teach martial arts.
I love to do CrossFit in groups and go to classes and group WOD’s. The community in CrossFit is so weird but class ha!
But prefer martial arts training on my own- purely cos im usually teaching loads of kids. Xx |

Is your gym full of young blokes? The ones I see tend to be more interested in their phone than actually working out!

Aye mate loads, quite a few large groups of youngins it’s a shame was a quite serious gym a while ago still is but a lot of the bigger serious lads seem to have moved on. We have a female ifbb pro trains there and she can really crank it out hard |

Depends if I’m lifting heavy prefer to work in a group
Of 2 or 3 for safety especially leg day also heavy days break between sets is usually longer.
Cardio days or light days on my own no chat just get on with it
Though I don’t mind as long as I’m in the gym and not sat in my ass wishing I was in the gym |

No, I hate it. I dont enjoy the gym and have to force myself to go. I prefer fitness classes where there is shed loads of motivation provided via the instructor and other class members. Unfortunately classes are so limited where I live. |
