Rebel Wilson
Melissa McCarthy
Adam Sandler
Will Ferrell
Jack Whitehall
Nicholas Cage
Ben Stiller
Vince Vaughn
It's great if you want to see the exact same character just in a slightly different setting, since they all just play themselves. |

Cant argue with any on the list. Going to throw in a couple of controversial ones; Robert De Niro and Al Pacino.
For most of their careers they have played the same character just in different situations |

Bruce Willis fits in that category.
Same character since that TV show in the early 80's. |

Al Pacino... maybe. Most of his big ones are gangster related. Robert De Niro on the other hand has played a variety of roles. Other than the gangster roles like Goodfellas and The untouchables, he has done Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Cape Fear and King Of Comedy which are all very different. |

I'm not being sexist But . . . . . . ... .
By looking through the posts most are men! Not many women names been given
Rebel Wilson
Amy Schumer"
I mentioned Pamela, but Amy Schumer is awful too.
Personally I think Julia Roberts is overrated too.
In some movies even Eric Roberts acting better than Julia.
She's not even that pretty to make everyone biased. |

"Actually I've seen him in some more serious movie.
If recall the movie was crap, but he's acting was surprisingly decent."
Jim Carey?
Was that Number 23? He's also really good in Man on the Moon |

I used to agree until I saw him playing a gang boss in S2 of True Detective. Totally different from anything else ever saw him in, totally straight role, and threatening in places. |

I would have said Robin Williams, as all he ever seemed to do was comedy. And comedy is not acting. It's comedy. Highly skilled of course, but it's not acting.
However, after seeing One Hour Photo I had a change of heart. (Ok, 1 movie is not conclusive in and of itself. I just wished he'd done more straight movies too). |

Good Will Hunting? He was brilliant in that |

He wasn't doing comedy in the Night At The Museum films and I thought he was rather good in those. |

I agree. And Sleepers, Heat, Meet the Parents. Each of these movies he protrays very different characters & roles - I think De Niro is an incredible actor. |

"Has anyone nominated Keanu Reeves yet? Might be the nicest guy in the world (allegedly) but as wooden as they come! "
I was just about to
A lovely guy it seems, effortlessly cool and he’s been in some admittedly great films.
Unfortunately however, his thespian skills are really wanting….
….except for one film in which he played a nasty character (The Gift) wherein I was taken aback at just how good he was(!!!) |

He also played a killer in a movie with Al Pacific, Insomnia. |

That's bc film industries are notoriously sexist in terms of representation in favour of men. That's why men spring to mind first. |

Anyone who plays themselves. Rami Malik is to me Rami Malik in everything he is. As he is quite and intense character in person uncomfortable in his own skin he suits roles that play to that. As an actor I don't rate him as he couldn't play not himself. To me he is the same person trying to be Mr robot or Freddy Mercury. Which is annoying as Freddy Mercury was actually outgoing and funny if not shy. Clearly I think Freddie Mercury disliked the media and was shyer than he would have been had the whole world not been an weird homophobic fuck fest. Where Elton John is marrying some woman, George Micheal is pretending to date women and boy George is ok because although clearly gay he prefers a cup of tea to sex. The way Malik plays him it's like he is some confused self hating mute and not clearly an amazing entertainer who happens to like a bit of cock. |

"Hugh Grant" I would have agreed had it not been for that film where he plays some Londoner. Can't remember but apart from one film he plays himself the loverable charming but flawed upper middle class borderline upper class rogue.
