Sexual Preferences And Their Origins

Good folks; We each have our own sexual idiosyncrasies and preferences.
Whilst some prefer ‘Vanilla’ activities, others may find this ‘style’ somewhat wanting in gratifying their sexual satisfaction and may thus opt to ‘push the boundaries’ so to speak, to varying degrees.
Others yet may hold very specific ‘Kinks’ that they wish to explore in order to satiate their sexual requirements.
A quick question for you all in relation to the above: Upon introspection, can you identify the intrinsic origin of exactly WHY you hold a specific sexual predilection or else ‘style’ of sexual gratification?
Please note: As this is a rather personal question, please feel free to simply answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ if you do not wish to divulge anything more  |

Having reached the age of 50 with very little sexual experience and zero sexual contact for the previous 10 years I discovered by chance that I am sexually instinctive.
I have limits like most people and won't cross those but everything else is just the result of a desire to explore all those things I have never been able to explore before.
Nothing too outlandish so to a lot of people here my preferences are probably very vanilla but to me they are anything but. |

No idea.
I'm a happy masochist. I live for that feedback loop and can happily spend hours on cock worship and throat fucking. I like to be seen and appreciated for everything I am.
I could try and trace it back to some childhood trauma I suppose. But I'm perfectly happy the way I am. And my therapist and I have much more important things to work through  |

I can’t pinpoint the origins of *all* of my preferences, other than that I like them (eg giving and receiving oral etc)
Specific things I like, eg Cowgirl, or my ultra specific kink of damp one-piece swimsuits  , come from memorable past encounters of exciting or great sex.
That’s about as deep as I can get really : either I’ve had a great experience or I simply enjoy it |

It’s a term often employed in a derogatory sense (although it should not be) to denote ‘basic’ sex I.e just missionary, doggy etc.
However, it is rather ambiguous as one persons definition of vanilla sex may vary substantially from another’s. |

I guess it all starts with a thought. That thought morphs and evolves into a fantasy and a more concrete goal which, then, hopefully for most, turns into a reality. From that point, you know if it’s 100% for you or not. |

I guess I heard about things through friends, late night TV, porn, and the Internet. Some of those things intersted me so I wanted to have my own experiences of them to see if I liked them or not. Some th8ngs I enjoyed and continue to enjoy, other things were once only. I still want to push my boundaries and try other things that sound appealing to me, and if I like them I'll want to continue trying them. I've had girlfriends that have been completely vanilla and I still had enjoyable sex and I'm not put off in the slightest by women wanting only that.
