What kind of duvet cover do you have And who bought it?
Also, what is the lighting like in your bedroom?
This a Portsmouth university research question.
Thanks in advance
Not couples, cos we all know your better half buys that stuff. |

Hahaha love this post.
When I was new to online dating I learned a lesson - a guy lied to me about being married when we were chatting. Something about his pictures made me suspect it but I couldn’t put my finger on it.
Afterwards when he owned up I realised it was the white bedding with little pillows on the bed! No way a single man would have that hahaha |

I have a little cushion on my bed! I admit, I use it when I’ve got a bad back. |

It’s grey on one side and white on the other it has a pattern on it but I can’t remember what it is and can’t be bothered to go upstairs and look. My mother bought it for me and put it on my bed while I was in hospital last year so it was nice for coming home after two weeks sleeping like shit on uncomfortable hospital beds. I have others but like this one as it has a zip rather than buttons
Lighting is standard have the main Light and matching lamps on the bedside tables but like most blokes I can’t be bothered to use lamps just use main light |

I buy them I’ve a lovely white Cotten seersucker set with a 16:5 tog duvet.
Love to wrap up snug in a warm winter duvet. On a nice old iron looking bedstead.
Lighting I’ve a couple of storm lamp looking lamps with a nice warm bulb. Don’t like it to bright in there |

Just any duvet cover from Dunelm, I bought it and and lighting isn't great and there isn't much ambience. But I'm only sleeping and working there anyway so there doesn't need to be |

Egyptian cotton fitted and duvet cover matching pillow cases to the duvet. 2 small cushions too.
I also make my bed every morning.
Yes, I am single.
Just a little OCD.
The ex was the total opposite to me. |

I have a few. Mainly checked or striped, but also a plain white/grey and this blue/white patterned thing. Thread count: high. Also a very special Christmas dog one (which was a gift)! No cushions - I'm not a woman, despite appearances to the contrary above.
Bedside lamps, not the main light.
I'm always amazed when women are surprised by this sort of thing. We weren't all raised in barns!

Why can't men be bothered to use lamps? Surely, it's more pleasant? |

No, us men like to feel like we're in prison. It's in our DNA. |

We tend to think of function over form, both create light but it’s generally easier to just use the light switch |

Here's where I sound like a right ponce. I have in the past made my own duvet covers but i tend to just buy them now, always plain white and always decent quality, usually Egyptian cotton, I have a fairly high end embroidery machine so i add my own designs on the plain white cotton, at the min I have "my Everton one" on, plain white Egyptian cotton with the club badge embroidered on each bottom corner, the old club badge in the middle with UTFT in 5x3 inch letters next to it.
King size bed with a home made mattress protector on as I find the store bought ones not up to scratch, home made fitted sheet on top, home made pillow protectors, all white. I know I sound like a quilt myself.
Got rid of my bedside lamps as they were taking up space on my bedside cabinet, just use the main light or the light from my bedroom telly

But if you’re in bed reading and snuggled you’d have to get up to put the light out |

Being 6ft 4, I had to treat myself to a super king bed, all goose down duvet and pillows and a choice of 800 thread covers that are mainly dark grey and black.
Comfy as hell. |

All Bamboo bedding, all bought by myself. Doesn't match because I'm not that organised with buying bedding.
Lights I have a few.
Main light is a smart bulb with any-shade, usually purple.
Under the bed is an LED strip on a motion sensor, usually on red.
The bedlamp is made from driftwood and brass, a one off.
The other bedlam is made from a carburettor and a racing air filter, also a one off. |

Double bed, single duvet, always a summer duvet as I get too hot in bed. Have two covers, one blue, one white with black stripes, white mattress cover and pillow cases.
I bought them. |

Lighting is a big ornate chandelier type- dimmable ( only used when looking fir something in the dark!!) - 2 side table lamps with those wifi controllable bulbs in so you can have different colours and any brightness. |

The RGB lighting on my gaming rig is usually enough, but i have an inspection lamp for soldering when I need it.

There’s the bedroom big light obvs, but always use bedside lights. Bedding is high thread count stuff that feels great and really shows off the cat’s muddy paw prints
occasionally put on a pvc bottom sheet for baby oil wrestling fun…
quality mattress and pillow protectors always |

One duvet. No idea on tog rating but as I'm usually warm it's a lighter or mid tog.
Lighting is one large smart light. I adjust colour & brightness for ambience. No bedside lights as the one smart light covers all functions.

"Fellas... You know there are colours other than grey right?"
I usually go for white. Boring but it's easiest to maintain. Sheets and towels get hot wash which isn't good for colours. |

Wow, you're good. Unless someone's coming over my pillow cases may or may not match. If there's company then... I try to ensure they do. |

Yes, mine is mulberry red as is all the bedding, matching the curtains and the wall between the wardrobes. I do think those dark red shades are very sexy. |

"What kind of duvet cover do you have And who bought it?
From John Lewis. Grey. I always enlist help from a female friend when shopping for bedding, curtains etc. coz I’m about as creative as a dead pigeon.
Also, what is the lighting like in your bedroom?
Main light, pretty plain one and 2 bedside lamps, touch on/off
This a Portsmouth university research question.

A 10.5 tog double with black cotton cover, matching grey/black cot, diamond foil printed black curtains and a green/yellow pelican bedside lamp.
Another 6.5/7tog with cream cotton cover on the second bed room.
The main lights are white shades - not intending to change as will be moving out soon |
