Somewhere In The Ether…

Ey up good folks

Right; a quick one: Have you ever added tomato ketchup to roast dinner?

Perhaps you enjoy salad cream with your greens?

Or maybe yet, you love nothing more than Branston Pickle with beans on toast?

You get the gist of this thread, right?

Yes indeed; Simply fess up all your bizarre condiment/food combinations and brace yourself for almost certain ridicule by other members on here

Praise be!

I tried to put ketchup on Veal the first time I had it as a kid: 15 I think.

The girl's dad: French family from Paris - went ballistic.

There's a long back story, but yeah I think that's a faux Pas especially as he was French.

As a rule I’ll have either tomato ketchup or else salad cream with any meal you can list.

I am a proud and unrepentant, culinary philistine

I’ve recommended it before on here and I’ll do so again: Peanut butter and salad cream sandwiches.

It’s heavenly, it’s even better than sex and will bestow true and immediate spiritual enlightenment upon you when you eat it (possibly)

I love extra mature cheese inside my coffee. I let it melt and “drink” it after drinking my coffee.

I used to eat pineapple with ketchup.

I do put ketchup on a roast dinner if it pork.

I've added Mayo to a roast dinner. Potatoes make chips. Chips require mayo. Therefore potatoes need mayo.

Infact I add mayo to anything.

I like to slip a bit of Branston between the egg and the sausage of a Scotch egg. I'm not sure he knows this about me yet

I will have vinegar on everything only exception being a cooked breakfast.

Used to get a lot of stick for putting tartare sauce in cheese and bacon sandwiches but as I used to say don't knock it till you've tried it.

No, you misunderstood. This is about unusual or surprising combinations, not matches made in heaven.

"Why do you need sauce if you have proper gravy??"

Because what improves a sauce? Adding another sauce of course.

And there I was thinking you were an open minded swinger

Not at all a wind up. I honestly love this. I thought for ages I was the only one who ever did this. I’ve been drinking coffee since before ten years old. Mostly milk with drops of coffee, mind, but always with cheese melted in it.

A few years ago, I discovered in some countries people do this with hot chocolate. That I find absolutely disturbing.
