What a monumentally crappy thread title ey?
But please bear with me for a second: So there I was listening to a cover of the Marvin Gaye classic, Mercy, Mercy Me.
‘Hmmm sounds like Chris Rea’ I mused.
Well, bugger me with welly boots on! - It was in fact a cover by the late and very sadly missed, Robert Palmer.
Good folks: Can you list for me times when you have similarly been rended befuddled as regards singers, based upon similar vocal styles or tones?
In other words, please list singers here who, in your opinion, sound uncannily like other singers on occasion

For a minute there I thought you were going to say that Chris Read sounds like Marvin Gaye.
The nearest I have come to this I can think of is in my teens when I was listening to Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer (when it was new) and my brother said "It sounds like the Power Station". I pointed out that that's because Robert Palmer was the lead singer of the Power Station. |
