Ask your local pharmacist, especially if it persists, which might require a trip to see a GP. |

Strepsils do a lozenge with ibuprofen in it. That helps a lot.
Keeping hydrated and dealing with post nasal drip.
Honey in hot drinks
Some alcohol - it does help, but not just as a way to get pissed. (Mead is particularly lovely) |

As someone mentioned above paracetamol and ibuprofen. Drink plenty of fluids and sip warm milk with honey. If you can bear it eat ready salted crisps, the salt helps the soreness and the crisps slough off any loose skin. |
