Yep - I once did some holiday cover work for Kier. (The company, not Starmer!) The foreman told me he’d never been able to get over being called “duck” by the northern truckers! Sure enough, weighing in the lorries from up north, I got called “duck” too! Always felt weird that! I always wondered if it would be polite to respond with a ‘quack’ but I never did!
But at least it wasn’t rude: the owner of the unit poked his head round the door shortly after I arrived and, having realised he’d never seen me before, greeted me with a shout: “Who the fuck are you!” I was severely tempted to return the question but bit my tongue! |

Think it’s definitely the Bar tender in me but it’s either being WAY to overly flirty. Simply friends that way. Or to those special ones I come up with my own lil insults
