What is the one thing where you were giving a genuine option and you made the wrong choice.
Mine, having the cancer removed my bladder involves the procedure called Transurethral Resection Of Bladder Tumor (TROPBT). This involves placing an instrument (tube like thing) through the urethra to the bladder so other instruments can be used to remove the tumour.
Now this procedure is usually done using general anaesthetic but because I have real phobia of being out out I was given the option of spinal block. Meaning I would be awake. It also meant I was fully aware of the amount of student doctors and nurses watching me with my legs up in stirrups flashing all to see whilst in the most vulnerable position I have ever been in!
I wished I had gone for the general anaesthetic and have been nine the wiser. |
