I grew up watching WCW, my favourite was always Sting but had a soft spot for Macho Man, La Parka, Jushin Thunder Liger, Scott Hall.

Haven't watched wrestling in a long time, although I briefly watched Lucha Underground, that was pretty good.

Only talking about a certain period, definitely "Best In The World" CM Punk - the time where he "left" WWE with the championship and came back against Cena.

I've always liked good heels, even relatively minor wrestlers as long as I liked their gimmick - Fandango, Damien Sandow, Alberto Del Rio to name a few. I guess MJF currently.

If looking at their whole career, I was too young to enjoy them in their prime but love The Rock and Stone Cold!

Haven’t watched it since last year of high school, favourites were

Vince McMahon (I know he weren’t a wrestler but loved the way he shouted on and was an absolute jerk to everyone)

The rock before he was a goody and had hair he became a twat when the crowd liked him and still is to this day

Ken shamrock

Sexual chocolate mark Henry (only because he annoyed the fuck out of my mam)

Stone cold (who didn’t like him back then)

Favourites as a kid were the Legion of doom

My favourite growing up was Kurt Angle. It’s true.. it’s true. So good in the ring technically and his promos were great. I always felt sorry for him too with the “you suck” chants on his entrance.

Original masked Kane gets an honourable mention. Used to scare the shit out of me.

I wouldn't call any of them smaller guys - they were all main eventers and world champions. Especially Jericho (the first undisputed champion), Guerrero (he was so good, his entrance song is one of the most iconic ones - "I lie, I cheat, I steal") and Angle (he was always in and around the championship given his Olympic pedigree).

Was a worker for 15 years and even had a wwe tryout. My favorite of all time is shawn Michael's. Hey I based most of my character on him! However if you asked me who to put on the mount Rushmere of wrestling then

Hulk hogan-oh he certainly wasn't the best wrestler in the world and was never a fan but he (and vince) made pro-wrestling to what it is today.

Ric flair- the yang to hogan's yin, while hogan headlined the glitzy wwf. Nwa champ flair toured the territories and the world, building up young talent and putting them on the map. He wrestled 60 minutes matches someone twice a day, calling everything in the ring. He lived his gimmick!

Shawn Michael's the best all round package, the look, the promo skills and above all there is no such thing as a bad shawn Michael's match. He could wrestle wrestle a broomstick and make it a main event.

Steve Austin I first saw a stunning Steve Austin in uswa and thought there was the future of the business. Was destined for great things but didn't quite work out in wcw.

Arrived in wwf and after a shakey start the stone cold character was born. The wwf was going under but Austin defined the attitude eta and, was instrumental in winning the Monday night wars and I belive he is still the highest drawing worker of all time. Unfortunately many injuries hindered his great wrestling ability so he adopted a brawler style but he was so over at the point it didn't matter

Absolutely, then you have to take into account their impact on the industry as whole. Sammartino and Flair both have a shout and you could go even further back!

The best professional wrestler is the one that is the most over or draws the most money. The rock could raise his eyebrow and get a bigger pop that Jeff Hardy jumping off a 20 foot ladder. Sanmartio hmmm another worthy of a spot

Randy savage would be on my mount rushmore if I hadn't begrudgingly put hogan there. Never saw the appeal of sting myself and despite ric flair and the nwa had faith for him to be the front of the company they ended his first title reign in 6 months.

"Ultimate warrior and The nature boy Ric Flair. "

Two complete polar opposites when it comes to wrestling styles.

Flair was one of the best at making wrestling look like an actual fight that you could believe.

Ultimate Warrior, although I would have let him pound me relentlessly

, was hot garbage in the ring. As bad as you could get without being literally a valet girl with no athlete ability.

By all accounts Ultimate Warrior was apparently a bit of a twat in real life as well.

RIP Ultimate Warrior, but shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Ric Flair.

Warrior had no regard for his opponents safety or respect for the business. Although his run with Andre the giant humbled him a bit!

Same with Goldberg, he was responsible for ending bret harts career. In a shoot interview bret was asked how stiff Goldberg was in the ring and he said Goldberg made vader feel like shawn Michaels

"I quite liked goldberg during his streak. (not as he is now.)

I also liked the legion of doom.

This is WCW though, back in the day. Not WWE."

Or the road warriors as legion of doom were known.

"The heartbreak kid, ah my first love.

He was my second favourite behind The Undertaker! I really wish I got to experience 90s dickhead Shawn Michaels though instead of just the born again 00s one "

97 c*ked out Shawn Michaels v 2006 perc Angle would be the greatest match of all time.

There are some advantages to being old Joe. 90's was the best.

I watched it as a kid but only because my brother loved it so I wasn’t a fan myself. The husband has always loved it so we use to watch the PPV back in the day but stopped years ago. We started watching it properly at the start of this year and yes, I am a Cody Cry Baby! Rhea is my other favourite. She’s a future hall of famer for sure! Livid that she’s relinquished the title but I’m hoping it’s all part of a storyline and she’ll come back and reclaim it soon enough.

The husband says it depends on the metric - your favourite or the best? He thinks it has to be the game changers who did something to elevate the sport, like Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Stone Cold, Roman Reigns. He finally settled on John Cena for his passion, dedication and what he has done for wrestling.

Attitude era was unbeatable but Stone Cold was the one and only. In more recent times, purely on wrestling talent Daniel Bryan.

Today a huge pop on entrance is still known a a road warriors pop. It may be because in Japan they used black sabbath iron man as their entrance. They couldn't use it in the US due to copyright law. Were the fans popping for the song or the wrestlers??? Guess it's one of those unknown wrestling truths

I'd love to! But haven't seen the ticket prices. Are they quite expensive?

Currently the £500 tickets left and thats for the back two sections of the Hydro. It's a combo ticket they are doing which is Smackdown on the Friday and Clash on Sat. Don't seem to be doing tickets for Clash only.
