Somewhere In The Ether…

Good folks: In the context of this site, it is invariably customary to ‘blow one’s own trumpet’ (what a delightful colloquialism!) on here to some extent, in the intent to attract those one may actively seek.

However - In this thread I’m asking the very polar opposite of you all:

Upon introspection, what do you consider to be your faults?

Have others around you ever commented upon the very same considered flaws?

Have you actively sought to rectify these faults?

And finally: Have you ever tried peanut butter and salad cream sandwiches?

"Peanut butter and salad cream sandwiches?!? "

The chosen delicacy of the mighty Zeus himself.

(I may have just made that up actually…)

I'm told I'm too blunt. Too honest. Too open. Too much.

I don't intend to change a thing

I'm skeptical of people and don't trust anyone. I'm stubborn, irrational and overthink things way too much. I'm hard work sometimes because life has kinda shaped me that way but I'm working on it.

Somewhere In The Ether…

I can be quite internally anxious.

I’m also a lover of my own company….I mean a lot which often doesn’t fly so well with others

.

I have faults.

I'm aware of them and it's probably not best to list then on here... it's a public forum after all.

I know my faults but I also know where there's a line - certain behaviour that's really not on. Like being abusive - whether it's swearing, calling people names, emotional abuse, isolating, gaslighting etc. There's a world of difference between flaws.

So... my flaws are part of me.

I once had someone only comment on them (or their perception of what they were). To the point where it became toxic and I didn't enjoy the conversations any more. No one wants to be told they're x, y and z constantly and then have to show they're not. I like people being honest with me but I think sometimes it's more about showing the negative perception they have of you. Bringing you down a peg. Rather than just being that friend you can trust to tell you it straight.

I am working on my flaws. I also am more than them. So much more.

You can be aware of them without becoming all about them.

The Big Smoke

My faults are all part of what makes me me.

Some I work on if they’re annoying to others but others I like. I like that I’m blunt, honest and open.

If others don’t, that’s none of my concern

"I’m impulsive "

Being impulsive isn't a fault.....well not in my book anyway,it makes life interesting

Granted it does land you in the shit at times, but that's half the fun lol, famous last words..."well that didn't work out how I thought it would

My strengths also used to be my faults.

Being the rock for everyone else meant at times I was easily used.

That doesn't happen anymore but like everyone else I'm sure I still have faults but am not aware of them.

I'm very blunt. I'm impulsive. Yes, both commented on. Yes, try to rein it in.

And no to the sandwiches.

I'm never going to say what I consider to be my flaws.

Of course they've been commented on and I've tried to rectify some and not others.

I will admit to one fault, a refusal to admit to my faults
