'I am back' - I see this all the time on some profiles with very little else. What does that mean? How is anyone meant to know who you are when there is nothing else on the profile? Do the rest of you know something I don't? Where is Miss Marple when you need her  |

It means they had loads of verifications on their old profile, decided to take a break, verify if you remember them, they were here before and know how it works... but can't get a meet for love or money  |

That bit I do not need Miss Marple for but the rest still puzzles me because if I wanted people to know 'I am back', I will also leave a few clues as to who I was so that people could reconnect if they so wished. Otherwise I would just start afresh? |

I enjoy things like that O.P. It makes me smile.
I never know who they are, who they were, why they went or why I should give a fuck and invariably I don't.
I do sometimes think it's some poor soul who views the forum as their 'reality' the place where everybody knows their name ..... and even more .... have missed them.
I'd never say that though ....... I do the sanitised version of ...... Welcome back x |

They're like those people on other social media platforms who will post a comment that means absolutely nothing to most of their friends / followers, though they seem to assume that everyone will know exactly what they're on about.
If you're looking to be recognised by people you've interacted with before, try actually putting some detail in your profile and post a couple of pics, otherwise, nobody is going to have a scooby-doo who you are. |

Sometimes I think it’s that they haven’t recently returned, they just say they have so they can get away with someone giving them a vague verification as a favour.
I’m suspiciously minded thanks to years of watching Lovejoy and Cagney & Lacey. Most folk were wrong uns. |
