My favourite is an old engineer’s pen. Brass, with ruler/measurement markings up the sides.

Yes I’m a geek. What of it?

Tonypandy.

Of course I do. It's got just the prefect fine line nib. Firm but not scratchy. Comfort grip. Good smooth ink flow.

It's a lovely pen and I have no idea who I pinched it from.

Somewhere In The Ether…

When I was at school I had an amazing fountain pen.

For some inexplicable reason, my handwriting was actually really pretty whenever I wrote with it - quite unlike usual as my handwriting is scruffy enough to make most GP’s scribbles look like fine art.

Yes. It’s a cute one that has the colours of the rainbow that can be used individually and it has a Pusheen cat on top.

Cheap and cheerful but CUTE!

You can lead a horse to water but a pencil must be lead.

A fountain pen/dip pen nib only allows you to move in certain directions,it is that restriction that forms letters in a certain sequence therefore creating neat writing.

I have an ultimate favourite pen, and then a second best favourite pen added this year lol. My father gifted this pen to me as a birthday present several years ago. I've kept it safe and used it for all important exams, documents, contracts etc. It is really sentimental to me. The second I bought on a work trip.

With that said, a free pen is a brilliant pen

I don’t really have use for a pen in the middle of a field, by my hook is like my 3rd arm, so precious I hide it when I’m off so nobody else uses it.

I have a wonderful Waterman Fountain pen that I routinely use, part of a biro / fountain pen set. …

They always say, don’t use a pen you can’t afford to lose! … I do, but thankfully haven’t yet xxx

I wouldn’t say a favourite but I have one that’s nearly empty and I’ve never gotten this far before so I would be a bit gutted if it vanished

Yes, I got it from the Chicken Ranch brothel in Vegas, and it says that on it, nobody at work seems to want to nick that one.

I hasten to add I was only there for a tour and a coffee though

Yes, I've reduced to become minimalist...

So In terms of pens, I own 1 pen, a Caran d'ache made with recycled nespresso capsules which my kids brought me for Xmas & 1 pencil with rechargeable mines my partner got me.

It's not about the price because they are worth like 50e for both, it's more of the real purpose and the emotional element.
