What Are You Presently Watching?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Good folks: What TV series is floating your metaphorical boat at the moment?
Have you finished a series recently and wish to sing its praises from the rooftops?
Alternatively, perhaps you commenced on a series in good faith but promptly gave up in abhorrence or else sheer boredom and wish to air your abject disdain?
Pray tell, do reveal all here my fine people
I’ll start: I watched Midnight Mass on Netflix, which was superb. In fact, I’ve not seen such a good vampire themed show since Chapelwaite

I just finished Hijack with Idris Elba. Some plot holes but he was good.
I only have an Apple TV trial for a couple more weeks so perhaps Slow Horses with Gary Oldman. |

I really miss Midnight because she'd understand this. She gets it.
There's a new season of MiC. I'm mainly watching it because I love it but also personal reasons.
I want to try Wolf but I've heard such mixed things about it so I'm unsure. |

Late to the party but started watching the affair. I'm half enjoying it but half not, I think its because as its told from their own perspective, you never really get a sense of who the characters truly are. |

I’m presently watching Wolf on iplayer
I’m only two episodes in thus far but am finding it really addictive.
Top marks especially to Sacha Dhawan who is putting in a delightfully deranged performance |

We enjoyed Hijack too and currently going through a retro phase watching old episodes of The Bill
We love Sci Fi and Marvel but despair at how Disney seems to be destroying everything it touches at the moment, including rumours they are watering down Deadpool 3 |

I really enjoyed The Affair….until the final seasons whereupon it became overtly apparent that the makers had run out of ideas or possibly even interest in the quality of the show |

Oh brilliant! I'll definitely give it a go then. I absolutely adored Chapelwaite.
Midnight Mass had the very typical monologues you come to expect from Flanagan but the scene where she's talking about death and says "and I am like the stars that are in the sky: There one moment, and then just scattered across the goddamn cosmos" is so beautiful.
He has a new series coming out in October - Fall of the House of Usher. Poe and Flanagan? It's going to be so good. Hopefully! |

Oh yes indeed - I can’t wait for that one!
I really enjoyed Flanagan’s, The Haunting Of Hill House also.
Brilliant news regarding Chapelwaite: A second season is apparently in the works |

The Bear is highly recommended. A disillusioned top chef inherits his brothers run down restaurant in Chicago and is determined to turn it around against the flow of the tide. A tight script, well acted with an intriguing plot and fascinating characters. At least I think so. |

I’m not sure if I’m alone on this but I always feel sort of empty if I ever feel the need to abandon a series, especially if I’ve invested in a few episodes.
Such was the case recently for me when I gave up on two in rapid succession; The French crime drama, The Crimson Rivers and the Korean fantasy series, Bulgasal: Immortal Souls.
Both were undeniably well made but regretfully failed to hold my attention |

Some good suggestions on here that I need to take a look at!
Recently watched Silo, excellent show with a twist at the end that doesn't go the way you might expect.
Need to finish the Witcher and Shadow and Bone but a friend recently got me into something called Owl House on Disney, a kids cartoon but it's got some excellent character development and strong story telling. |

I had started to watch Witcher 3 but laptop has now had an issue so in shop and being fixed, but I love watching Netflix and Disney and there is many things coming out including the new star wars storyline. Was actually starting also to watch a series regarding well forget the name but the child was walking down the road, another young person looking down at tree and they speak in which a van comes down the hill and then grabs the child. All the children are then made to look the same with white hair, can't remember the name |

The Bear is brilliant, watch it. The first series was great but the second was way past good.
A second recommendation is Pachinko, watch it for the title sequence alone. It's a feast for the eyes. |

We have a few on the go at the moment. We just finished The Mandalorian.
We're approaching the end of Ted Lasso, which is fabulous.
We're about half way through Catastrophe which is really good, but that's pretty much everything that has Sharon Horgan in it. |

We - like many others - feel genuine affection for Ted Lasso. A uniquely brilliant show.
LOVED Catastrophe! (Jack, especially.) It was a comedy Masterclass.
Did you see Bad Sisters? |
