Somewhere In The Ether…

There’s been so many memorable examples over the years, but what is the greatest one of them all?

Let this battle of the ages commence!

Veritably, the very future of the universe depends upon your votes good folks!

…..ok, it actually doesn’t but I’m trying to drum up some artificial excitement here.

"Star Trek Voyager"

I still listen to the multiple variations and fan edits of that.

The very small sample of the voyager theme they used in a Picard for Seven was amazing.

Not the greatest and wasn't technically the theme to it, but "run with us" used for The Racoons is awesome.

Chalk another one up for The Fall Guy (Unknown Stuntman). That has to be the greatest intro of all time.

Here's a bit of trivia:

The original Lee Majors song had the following verse that was removed from the TV series intro:

They'll never make me president, but I got the best first ladies

Someday´s I got´em as far as the eye can see - ouee

A morning dove with Jacky Smith, a crash in the night with Cheryl

But in the end they never stay with me

On my fall from the Tower Building, so Burt Reynolds don't get hurt

I might leap the mighty Canyon, so he can kiss and flirt

Well, that smooth talker's kissing my girl - I'm just kissing dirt

Yes, I'm the lonely stuntman, that made a lover out of Burt

I'll be impressed if anyone knows why that verse was dropped (without cheating of course!).

I'll never forget my school playground version:

stick a chainsaw up his bum

turn the power on

now that Fraggle's gone...

I'm guessing nobody got it (or nobody cared). Anyway, the now departed Burt objected to it because he always did his own stunts.

"Chalk another one up for The Fall Guy (Unknown Stuntman).

Wasn't Burt Reynolds earmarked for the role originally, but it clashed with him being offered Smokey & The Bandit?

That was 'Shaft' that used that. The Prodigy used Charlie from the Charlie says public service announcement ads.

"The original Hawaii 5 0"

An absolute classic!

And the brilliant intro titles with the camera panning in on McGarrett atop the building - superb!

Has anyone mentioned the original series of MacGyver?

Sounded a bit like a game show theme and was blooming awesome!

The Incredible Hulk’s closing, piano theme as our hero wanders off down the road at the end of every episode.
