I also think at times as we get older, (myself included) think we "know better" and just refuse to consider we may be wrong about somebody or a situation. |

To me bullshitters are the ones who lie on their profiles or don’t tell the truth (say single when have a partner/say safe sex but have bareback pics on single profiles).
We don’t get involved in drama - so usually can spot it quite easily. We don’t meet straight away and BS’ers tend not to keep a story going.

I've always said that most of what I spout on here is based on personal experience and that includes often stating what I see to be blatantly obvious BS but because it's presented in fancy wrapping with a few ribbons and bows most will either miss it or excuse it.

A lot of the stuff on here is self-aggrandizing bullshit. It doesn't really matter but we put so much stock into what strangers say just to be noticed, whether it's to get in with them or to go against the grain to show they're not like anyone else. It's like "ugh, we get it, now please shut up" |

If you mean on here, yes, I'd like to think so. I find it relatively easy to read between the lines of a profile, combine those thoughts with what the profile pics (if any) are showing / implying, as well as the content and tone of any messages. It's worked so far as all the meets that we've had have been good, or at least pleasant, with no disasters. |

Bad enough in itself but worse when that same third party is all over the person whos' details they shared in the forums and they have verified each other as fab besties.
Another example is contacting my veries asking for my personal details.
I've been approached by complete strangers at socials who claim they recognised me from my facepic in the presocial group chat.
The fact that I had never been in the group chat and don't post my facepic anyway would lead me to believe that someone I have met is passing those details around.
As there are only 3 or 4 people on here who know my first name and just 2 who have my surname and possibly a facepic it's a bit idiotic because I trust one of those implicitly so it's not hard to work out who the culprit is.
The BS is when they pop on here every day in various threads to tell us the things they don't like about fab and are ironically describing themselves to a T. |

I'm not good at spotting patterns like that. Or maybe just very slow. I remember coming out of work meetings and I'd missed every bit of subtext.  |

"I'm mystified by the thread as I don't know what bs you're all talking about! Unless it's obvious, it goes over my head.
Some examples of BS I have experienced are being sent facepics and personal details of someone I've disagreed with in the forums by a third party who thought I could use it as ammunition!
Bad enough in itself but worse when that same third party is all over the person whos' details they shared in the forums and they have verified each other as fab besties.
Another example is contacting my veries asking for my personal details.
I've been approached by complete strangers at socials who claim they recognised me from my facepic in the presocial group chat.
The fact that I had never been in the group chat and don't post my facepic anyway would lead me to believe that someone I have met is passing those details around.
As there are only 3 or 4 people on here who know my first name and just 2 who have my surname and possibly a facepic it's a bit idiotic because I trust one of those implicitly so it's not hard to work out who the culprit is.
The BS is when they pop on here every day in various threads to tell us the things they don't like about fab and are ironically describing themselves to a T.
I'm not good at spotting patterns like that. Or maybe just very slow. I remember coming out of work meetings and I'd missed every bit of subtext. "
I have a pretty good memory for behavioural patterns and I only call out BS that I know to be factual.
Someone posting in the forums about inappropriate images giving them the ick when I had previously removed them from a chatgroup for sharing those images.
Someone claiming other women are dangerous and that one had hideous pics and should be ashamed to post them while the other should have their children taken away because they had sex with strangers in their own home.
All while blowing smoke up the arse of those very women in public.
I used the word enabler in an earlier comment. Those are the people who witness this behaviour and choose to ignore it partly because they might get to fuck them and partly because they don't want to call out a popular forumite and become their next target.
It's sad how fannyblind some very intelligent people are. |

I have a poor memory. I do make private notes to keep track but obvs lose them when a profile is gone. I think being able to keep track of what's going on and who is who helps. Or not trusting anyone! |

Bullshit, backstabbing and hypocrisy are rife. They always will be.
But then I've been told I'm a liar and a backstabber and that people have evidence I'm doing so... i know I'm not, I'm pretty certain the "evidence" is gossip and heresay because evidence doesn't exist of something that hasn't happened.
So I'm not going to judge what may or may not be bullshit from others, I'll just stay away or at arms length. |

I've been accused of spreading rumours about some of the culprits and yet I've never once mentioned their names either here or in private messages even when I've been asked directly.
If I say what I've seen happening and someone on here takes offence I can only assume they resemble that remark and anyone who doesn't do these things would have nothing to be offended by.
I've been accused of causing drama or being involved in other peoples soap operas which is strange as I'm not in any chatgroups at all, haven't met anyone new or sent a message in 3 years and can count on the fingers of one hand the number of received messages so far this year.
My only communication on fab or about fab is right here for everyone to see in a public forum and yet that doesn't stop others from creating scenarios. |

The forums are the prime location for bullshit.
You read it, hear about it and get told it about yourself when people have nothing better to do with their time than make up bullshit stories and rumours about other people that aren't true.
These same people usually go on to make threads describing how bad everything is around them and "how do you deal with this", or "how do you cope with this" .
Easy solution, keep your mouths shut, stop spreading bullshit and life is so so much nicer when you learn that, grow up and act your age.
No one cares who did what, who with or what went on where.
Only the gossips do! |
