Somewhere In The Ether…

Good folks: A tad random question, but can any of you sing?

For clarification purposes, I mean do you posses an ‘objectively good’ singing voice as in, perhaps others have overheard you and complimented you on your dulcet tones?

Have you ever sung professionally?

Have you ever been in a choir/singing group?

Fear not, I won’t actually be asking for audio proof as to your supreme vocal prowess so you may bullshit to glory if you so desire (I’m just being nosey yet again is all)

I have sung in a choir but never professionally. I can sing in tune and if I warm up can sing soprano but nobody would say I have the voice of an angel

Not unless you count doing an impersonation of Alison Moyet singing the opening lines to Weak in the Presence of Beauty.

I downloaded one of those voice tuner apps the other day.

After recording my voice and applying the filter, I sat back with my headphones on and listened in excitement…

My voice still sounded utterly shite so I deleted it (I mean the app, not my voice. Sadly I’m stuck with that)

My singing voice is a casualty of nodules Covid.

I've lost my high notes altogether, and the midrange ones are gravelly.

I can’t sing a note, but I once did backing vocals in front of a crowd of 17,000 anyway.

Yes! And singing is my happy place. I’m versatile as well in terms of style. I’m currently in the process of starting up a new project now as a hobby.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say I’ve done it professionally, but I have been in a band that got paid a few times for gigs.

Haven’t been in a choir since school.
