Somewhere In The Ether…

They always taste infinitely better when someone else makes them for you for some inexplicable reason.

I was thinking about sandwiches last night.

I don't think there's a best one for me as I have moods where I may fancy cheese one day, ham or fish another day.

Salmon with malt vinegar and chives goes well on soft, brown bread.

Cheddar cheese with cucumber and coleslaw on tiger bread.

Ham with tomato and mayo on granary.

I like simple sandwiches.

I like an afternoon tea with different small sandwiches to choose from.

Reigate

Buttered soft white bloomer or white seeded bloomer, rocket, battered fish fingers (not breaded) sliced cornichons, topped with Mayo.

There. Now everyone knows how really posh I am!

;)

BLT but with hot smoked bacon and mayo in a wrap, yes I know its not traditional but it's tasty.

Spennymoor

Panini bread roasted/toasted with good olive oil, spread with sweet cranberry sauce, a layer of non-fusty brie on each side, sliced black grapes on one side, Smith's Bacon fries on the other, rocket and more olive oil in between, then close it up and let it warm through a little bit.

Stunning

If we are talking cold sandwiches, cheese and cucumber with a pinch of salt on the cucumber.

Everyone looks at me weird when I say that.

abruzzo Italy (and UK)

I just had a Peanut butter and cheese on a seeded brown bread which I wouldn’t say was the greatest sandwich of all time, but it was pretty darn good
