I’d always prefer to be good at something.
Logically, luck is invariably a fleeting concept so one’s inadequacies as regards the relevant skill, will be pellucidly revealed unto all.
I think people who know what they are doing tend to create their own luck. If someone is consistently lucky then that typically means that they have know how to put themselves in the right place at the right time. I would take that skill every day.
