A sad reachy.

So I get into work today yeah, and there's this guy, he's in his mid-twenties which is wonderful for me because he reminds me of how mental I was at that time, oh morning by the way.
Anyway, he's inconsolable. Maudlin. He's having a proper mope.
His favourite character in the TV show was killed off and he's genuinely affected; he's questioning the fragility of life, he's concerned that he will never be the man that this fake man was: he's all over the shop, basically.
I'm on his second reacharound attempt of the day, I can't even get so much as a throb guys, it's serious.
Has a fictional character's end hit any of you in this way? Unload your traumatic burdens here while I probably don't reply because I don't own a telly right now.

"Alcide in True Blood.
What a lazy, cheap and unceremonious death he was given.
Mind you, the show was in free fall quality wise by this time and actually ended at the end of the season anyway.
"
I expected them to kill off Lafayette tbh. Was pleasantly surprised he survived until the end |

Bobby Ewing in Dallas.
I mean seriously?!! What were they thinking?!!
Thankfully, the makers must have realised my disgust though and it was all shown to be just a dream.
….which was even more disappointing and an absolute insult

Wile E. Coyote everytime he ran off a cliff, looked down and fell to his death. Devestating. I shall never recover. That road runner needs to get his comeuppance |

I was pretty gutted when they killed that guy with the beard in The Robe... but he came back to life for a short while, which was weird. All a bit far fetched though so it didn't bother me that much. |

"Final scene of Blackadder Goes Forth, when they go over the top.
That was genuinely upsetting, for several reasons."
Yes, actually - that, of all endings, was the one that genuinely got me through my heart. Possibly because I was brought up on the writings of Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen, and my grandmother's life-long sadness of loosing both her brothers. |

I mean Murphy in Robocop, to this day, is a deeply uncomfortable scene to watch.
The pacing, the grim inevitability, his acceptance of his fate and his defiance to the very last.
Wonderful stuff. |

"No, I'm a heartless bitch I only actually cry at real life stuff not the TV.... "
I'm the opposite. I struggle with reacting to most (not all) real life events with tears. They barely happen.
Recently though I get extremely emotional over sorts of emotional events in tv shows and movies. Something I never used to do. |

"The last time I cried at a telly programme was when DS Buckells was finally revealed as H in Line of Duty
Oh oh spoiler alert lol"
It’s ok! They realised they fucked *that* ending up so there’s a new 3 part finale coming at Christmas I think when the REAL H is going to be named. If it’s Ted then I’m definitely crying |

Countered!
'Although commonly quoted as "meep meep", Warner Bros., the current owner of all trademarks relating to the duo, lists "beep, beep" as the Road Runner's sound, along with "meep, meep." According to animation historian Michael Barrier, Julian's preferred spelling of the sound effect was either "hmeep hmeep" or "mweep' |

I think also that this wasn't just a fictional death of fictional people. In the same way that the grave of the Unknown Soldier is a symbol for the grave of every soldier, Blackadder and Baldrick are the symbol of every soldier who went to their death. The scene shows something so big that it can only be shown by something so personal. |

Technically not a "death" (do I lose brownie points for not following the rules?), but the 10th Doctor's "I don't want to go" had me bawling into my cat's fur. I'd not long had a baby, so blame hormones
Also "Mom? Mommy?" In Buffy

Here’s one which absolutely floored me:
Bing Bong’s ‘death’ in Disney’s, Inside Out.
Now I know some folk try to justify it by saying that he was only an imaginary friend but I call’eth bollocks! - He was sentient goddamit!
Even worse, Disney lovingly depicted him disappearing in graphic bloody detail! Absolute bastards! |

10 years old. Was devastated when my hero Optimus Prime was killed by his arch rival in Transformers the movie.
Apparently the movie was poorly received because they killed off a number of beloved characters to bring in new ones because....toy sales
They did resurrect him after. |

I agree about Buckells that was such a let down, and Ted would make a good villian, but not Ted it can't be him |

I thought the ending was very true to life. There's plenty more escapist shoot out stuff if that's of interest, but I thought it was interesting to see popular media reflecting the institutional protection of corruption. |
