Not really no as it is often cliche and gets repetitive, compliments are often used as a pointless message.
Mist people want substance in messages not “mmm your great looking “

Sometimes. But that’s mainly from women, and those who aren’t gay or bi. Not that I think everyone wants to get in my knickers, I’m just too cynical and think most are disingenuous, but, I’d like more genuine women friends on here. |

If you receive 50+ messages a day would you expect that person to reply to all of them ?
As the majority are bound to be complimentary.
I get a couple of messages a day, if I put up a meet request maybe 20 at the most, so I would reply to the majority (depending on their profile) but I wouldn’t blame anyone for not replying. Believe me the compliments stop if you tell them you’re not interested.  |

I send loads out if like profile or pic or status message or story.or a forum post. Sometimes you get thank sometimes you done .cost you nothing to be nice .and shows not every guy here is a dick . |

I used to but not anymore.
Compliments from online strangers do nothing for me and I strongly believe are not even genuine.
Compliments from people I’ve met are a totally different thing. I do appreciate them and always will say thank you. |

Yes I would with a “many thanks” but to be brutally honest 99% of our messages don’t deserve a reply but I have plenty of time s I always reply even too the idiots (imho) because even idiots have feelings even if they can’t read bless them.

Depends on the compliment and what it is.
The last few _compliments_ to land in my inbox were (with no other substance to the message)
- Your [sic] hot
- Nice pics
- Are you a model?
- Gorgeous
- Nice ass
- Wow very nice

No. I used to reply but the majority of the compliments are just a ploy to get you talking. So now, (just as I would if complimented on, in passing on the streets) I smile politely and carry on regardless.

I never recieve messages let alone compliments.
I do however give compliments with no real expectation of hearing back it is just a way of showing my appreciation for the time they put into their profiles.
No one has a god given right to a reply so just chill & have some fun. |

If they have read my profile and made references to my photos and anything humourous in my narrative, then yes, I'll send a reply of thanks. Quite often a compliment is the impetus to a conversation starter. |

Personally, I would. Not saying it would lead to anything but as a single guy I don’t get many messages (sob sob lol), so it’s no hardship to say thanks.
I get that women/couples could get hundreds of messages so to take time out to reply to all the compliments would be crazy. If I paid a compliment to a woman or couple I never expect a reply….if I do bonus.
Zero expectations = zero disappointment in my eyes. |

If it took 30 seconds to open a message, copy paste a reply and send. 100 messages a day would take 50 minutes. Do you seriously think anyone has the time or desire to reply to unsolicited messages from randy men for nearly an hour a day or more?  |

I don't have anything in my inbox. In the past it's been busy, but I still don't reply to agenda-driven compliments. Aside from the time, it means they can keep messaging me. |

I've had people break the land speed record from "love your photos" to (not a real message, but flavour of a real message) "I didn't want to fuck you anyway, you stuck up ugly STI ridden worthless tramp."

I don't buy that. You can always read into words and find what is genuine and what has agenda.
