Argh!!! Sorry - I inadvertently deleted the post
Ok, second attempt:
Itchy feet, according to traditional lore are indicative that one is about to undertake travel.
Itchy palms meanwhile denote that one is about to come into money.
Any more good folks? |

I would like to state unequivocally that this is not true. In my experience.
I am sad about it. |

I’m even sadder that an itchy anus usually equates to an infestation of Thread worms…. |

"If it's your right palm you'll get money, your left you'll lose it.
I didn’t know that specific bit
*starts to scratch right palm fervently in vain attempt to make it itch* "
. I think it's about as true as the well known fact that hair growing on your palms means you're a werewolf |

Oh yes; and eyebrows that meet in the middle are another sure sign according to folklore.
…This is why I always use Gillette |

My mum who had loads of these sayings used to say that eyebrows that met in the middle meant you would hang .
If you could get a half crown between your front teeth it meant you were lucky. If you had 'five moles in a span, you'll neither want for bread nor man'
She had loads more that I can't remember off the top of my head |

"Athletes foot
I had that once; the itching sensation is beyond belief.
I guess the link between itching toes/feet and travel is true though…..I certainly traveled to the Dr’s "
Had it once myself as a child swimming pool changing rooms are the worst place to catch it... You feel like chopping your toes off with the irritation |

I love folklore and folk wisdom; It’s absolutely fascinating to ponder the origins of how so many of these superstitions came into being.

You'd have had a field day with my mum.
She wouldn't have certain flowers in the house. If we returned home because we forgot something she made us sit down before we went back out otherwise 'we would never return'. If we accidentally put something on inside out we couldn't change it because it was 'bad luck'.
It's a miracle I turned out normal... |

"If your keft ear is burning, someone is saying nice thibgs about you.
If the right one is burning, soneone is slagging you off. So you need to pinch the earlobe, they will bite thier tongue."
That’s particularly interesting; the intercepting and cancellation via pinching.
I’ve just read that the same principle also applies to an itchy right palm; if one actually scratches the itch, one will actually prevent the incoming money (in accordance with the belief).
It seems akin to breaking a circuit in essence. |

Were the undesirable flowers, Lilies per chance?
I know that they were traditionally associated with death and many people would thus only ever display them in such unhappy circumstances. |
