Who's the best 80's baddie and name a movie he/she was in.
I'll get the ball rolling with a man that was destined to play a bad guy:
Richard Lynch
One of his better movies was Invasion USA. |

‘It’s time.’ Richard Lynch was a brilliant, perennially typecast bad guy in so many 80’s films. He was particularly hissable in sword and sorcery flicks, The Barabarians and The Sword and The Sorcerer |

Brad Dourif: If an eighties film required a bit of a looney bad guy, Brad was often the man signed up. Most famous for playing the serial killer in and voicing that scary little bugger doll Chucky in the Child’s Play series.
Brian Thompson: He played the badass, big bad guy heavy in many an eighties film; Probably most notably playing opposite Sylvester Stallone in Cobra |

Was that Barbarians movie the one with those twin brothers?
If I remember rightly, Richard Lynch had quite an amusing death at the end.
Having lost some fingers earlier in the movie, he tried to fire a crossbow with a finger he'd lost. |

William Smith: Instantly recognisable in villainous roles from back in the 1970’s, right through the eighties and nineties.
Probably best remembered as the hard as nails main fighter, Jack Wilson who Clint Eastwood tackles in, Any Which Way You Can.

"
And as Arnie's dad in Conan the Barbarian (but not a baddie of course) |

That’s the one The Barbarian brothers were better known in the wrestling ring (hence why their acting chops were not exactly of the late Sir Lawrence Olivier’s quality)
It was an admittedly cheapo affair but was really rather fun and Lynch’s presence, as always, elevated it tenfold |

Of course, Brian 'cheek bones' Thompson. |

Michael Ironside.
Whenever you see Michael’s name in an eighties/nineties flick, you can pretty much bet your bum that he’s either playing the main villain or else a gruff and no nonsense army type
Probably most famous as playing the villain in David Cronenberg’s, head exploding classic, Scanners |

Token Asian baddie that never speaks, Al Leong.
Lethal Weapon, Die Hard and Big Trouble in Little China to name a few.
I think he was in Black Rain too. |

Also, that one from Karate Kid but I loved that film. The story of a hopeful young karate enthusiast whose dreams and moxie take him all the way to the All Valley Karate Championship. Of course, sadly, he loses in the final round to that nerd kid. But he learns an important lesson about gracefully accepting defeat |

I'd say his role in total recall |

There's a difference to be made between those actors that played baddies and actors that only played baddies.
As far as I'm aware, Richard Lynch was only cast as a bad guy.
Conversely, Michael Ironside for example, has played many bad roles but has also been cast in poritive roles too (Starship Troopers) |

Robert Davi: Has played one or two good guy roles (Die Hard for instance) but generally if you see his name appear, fully expect him to be dishing out often sadistic trouble for the hero.
Probably best remembered as the main villain in the Timothy Dalton Bond film, Licience To Kill (which also starred a very young Benicio del Toro who himself, is no stranger to villainous roles) |

"I instantly thought of Kathy Bates character in Misery but I'm 1 year out 1990. What Twat she was "
I'll allow that because some of it was probably filmed in 89. |

Of course, not all 80’s bad guys were necessarily outright, hands on tough guys.
Some opted for more underhanded approaches; Paul Gleeson and Hal Holbrook being two examples.
Gleeson invariably played unyielding authority figures, typically corrupt FBI agents etc. and often eventually revealed to be the main villain.
He’s probably best remembered as the stern teacher in The Breakfast Club though (a semi villain as it were…?)
Holbrook similarly, typically played sneering and corrupt roles. Most famous was as the main villain in Magnum Force starring Clint Eastwood |

Another classic typecast baddie: The late, Robert Tessier.
His trade mark shaven head and intimidating physique garnered him numerous acting roles playing the heavy in both films (such as the previously mentioned, The Sword And The Sorcerer) and TV (The A-Team etc) |

Probably more a 1990’s villain but our very own, Bruce Martin Payne.
Highly adept at playing well spoken psychopaths in such films as, Passenger 57, opposite Wesley Snipes, Highlander: Endgame and Howling 6: The Freaks amongst a zillion others |

Yes indeed; I was frankly shocked to see him playing a good guy in it to
Actually, I was even more shocked at the charming character of, Willy - the lovable, friendly reptilian who was played by none other than a pre-Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund |

"Alan rickman in die hard
He was a brilliant baddie, I know it wasn't an 80's film but I loved him as the The Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves."
He did milk his death scene a bit though. |
