An absolutely superb film! The ending effectively pacifies, even justifies the preceding violence and makes it far more palatable.

I've just re-watched Frailty a couple of weeks ago, I'd forgotten all about that cheeky switcheroo at the end. Brilliant film, and you're absolutely right, it deserves to be much better known. |

The Mist, must be up there, a brilliant ending that the Studio head’s didn’t want.
Angel Heart, was quite shocking when I first saw it, a more supernatural ending.
Don’t look now, has a famous ending now but when it first came out, it must’ve shocked the audience.
But my favourite was always Planet of the Apes, it’s the first time I asked my parents what did it mean when we saw the Statue of Liberty at the end. |
