During a conversation or discussion, are you somebody whom lowers the tone regularly?
In before somebody is "creative and unique", while predictable and "hilariously" makes a comment doing just that. |

I wouldn’t say that I lower the tone as such; certainly not in any lewd or uncouth manner at least.
I often do steer conversations off on silly tangents though.
Laughter is the best medicine after all as the colloquialism goes… |

"Can't stand negativity love being around people with positive attitudes and a good sense of humour .. otherwise it rubs off on you "
Exactly this.
Unfortunately due to the current situations world wide, conflict and financial problems there isn't too much to smile about and that has a negative effect on everyone. |

I lost the only close person my best friend who was my family to cancer early this year! Positivity is the only way and humour that helps at times. Sadly war, poverty etc will always exist. |

Generally I'll usually lower it to somewhere between Dizzy Rascals 'Bassline Junkie' and Brian Blessed with a sore throat and asthma.

Extreme/toxic positivity is a mental instability, just as extreme/toxic negativity is. They are both sources of trauma and often coping mechanisms. True stability comes from the balance of the two.
That aside the thread is about lowering the tone, not the mood. |

Completely agree mate so when I'm with certain friends we often talk about serious topics and corruption in the world but we don't class that as depressive that's just discussing intellectual subjects . But when I'm in a group out socialising keep it light and have fun |

So sorry for your loss, sincerely. My examples were just that, there are many many things in this word sent to try us and beat us down. Smiling is a very good start. |

What's negativity got to do with lowering the tone?!
Lowering the tone is picking the number 69, when you can choose any number from 1-100. It's singing saucy song lyrics at the colleague who gets the reference. It's the polar opposite of negative! |

And yes, I am the epitome of lowering the tone. It makes work bearable and lubricates those social situations where it's appropriate to be a bit inappropriate. It's a raised eyebrow when you hear certain words/phrases but you can't say something overt.
Yep. Guilty as charged m'lord. |
