Hey all, long time browser, reasonably new poster! Just wondering what people would recommend for box sets seeing as I’m gonna be laid up a week or two! Just finished The Sopranos and loved it,tend to like that sort of thing but also a bit of sci-fi as long as it’s not too ridiculous, don’t really get time for much tv otherwise and NCIS was in its infancy last time I did

Sci fi wise - the expanse in my opinion the best sci fi series of the last decade

As for anything else

designated survivor on Netflix is excellent

Not big on sci-fi, But i love a show called Six Feet Under i always go back to my box set now and again. I love the characters and some of the shots are very thought provoking, Also it has such brilliant diverse characters and one of the best endings.

Six Feet Under is brilliant, great characters. It's funny, sad and deep.

I'll mention the following as well The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, The Affair, Narcos, Ozark, Goliath, Love Hate, The Deuce and Deadwood

Somewhere In The Ether…

I couldn’t really get into it myself sadly (perhaps I should give it another go..), but I know that it has a big fan base; Black Mirror.

It returns for a sixth season on Netflix this Thursday

So true! Hard to pick a favourite character and also great acting. Love the funny quote "I really like your penis, Too bad you're attached to it."

I've started watching my box set the last few nights! I'm on the fourth series. It's the first time i've watched it since losing my best friend earlier this year, Weirdly it helps you with your own grief and love the humour too. Lol

I loved the first series of Designated Survivor but found it to drop right off after that and didn’t see out season 2,was a shame because the first one was awesome

Central

Red Light

It's awesome and very high quality. Set in Amsterdam and Antwerp red light districts and the best thing seen all year. And free . It's on Channel 4. A gripping season, with amazing acting. A lot here have loved it.

Recently bought my mum every series (12) of Death in Paradise.

It's no Columbo, but it's a pleasant bit of escapism.

Breaking Bad

Better Call Saul

Probably the only 2 of the same quality as Sopranos.

Derry

If you don't have a subtitles allergy, Gomorra is beyond comparison, It's dark, ruthless and totally amoral. No loyalty, just treachery and betrayal.
