Somewhere In The Ether…

We very often see much adulation and love heaped upon the plethora of cake varieties here (and rightly so!) but there seems to be an almost criminal overlooking of the culinary classic that is the humble pie.

With this in mind therefore and so as to equilibrate matters somewhat: Good folks, What is your favourite type of pie?

It can be either savoury or else sweet but a pie it must be

We've had pie threads

I loved my mum's steak and onion pie with pastry from the tin.

Name the Cuban leader who's been in power since the revolution of 1959?

Did (my personal favourite) the mighty pork pie win previously?

If not, I’ll be rigging things here to assure it’s rightful victory today

I think apple pie was quite popular.

There are very many here who clearly do not overlook a pie...

We're near Wigan (Wigan folk are called pie eaters) but yet to find a decent pie.

Little bakers in Farnworth Bolton do the best steak pie ever. It's amazing.

Do love a cream pie though

Proper deadly Aussie pies. No one else on earth does pies like Aussies do. Toasty shortcrust base, flaky puff pastry top, lots of tender chunky melt in your mouth meat with just the right amount of gravy. Lamb & Rosemary, Steak & Onion, Steak & Mushroom, Brekkie/Ned Kelly (beef, bacon, cheese, egg). - Mr

I’m a huge fan of steak pies and chicken, ham & leek pies, as long as they’re fully encased in puff pastry. Not shortcrust or those stupid lid only pies

But I’m going to vote for good old Cumberland Pie. Basically Cottage Pie with a cheesy crust. Yummy.

As for sweet, it’s hard to overlook cherry pie. Lemon meringue is nice, but can be underwhelming if done badly.

I wonder how many times I wrote the word pie…?

Favourite savoury would be cheese and onion or like vegetable curry or something. Favourite sweet would be cherry pie or maybe peacan pie.

Have you been to pieminster OP?
