I do it for my mental health and I love being strong. So many people underestimate me as I don’t look like your classic gym goer.
I might also go to perve and the sexy bodies .. like the two lads at the start of the thread… yum |

Because it gives me a ridiculous rush of endorphins - whether that's because it's painful or I love it I'm not yet decided.
Because I like taking the time for me. Like how I feel after, the change in my health - physically and mentally.
Because I love being able to shop in normal sized clothing stores for the first time in my adult life. I bought a size 16 top. Yesterday I tried it on and it fitted perfectly. Less than four years ago I was a size 28.
Because it's one of the few things in this world that helps calm my chaotic mind. It's that or cock worshipping. One is a lot kinder on my knees. |

I work out so I stay slim enough to get that corset on and hopefully pull it tight enough to get some sort of waistline!
Since lockdown though, I have been struggling . I need to lose two stone!
I would love to lose three! |

I don’t work out to look good, because I don’t have that motivation, plus I’d be failing lol
But physically I’m stronger and fitter than I have felt in a long time. Apart from being held together with duct tape I’m
Good… I keep working out and my biggest motivation is my little girl. I want to be around and watch her grow and live her life. Oh and also win the fathers race at school sports days |

Recently started animal flow which is fun."
Animal flow? Is that like the animal based yoga positions?
Or do you just howl at the moon? |

I workout so I can eat more pretty much. If I continued the way I eat without training… I wouldn’t be able to see my dick thats for sure lol
Other than that, I feel pretty good after a workout and its addictive once you get that bug seeing the results! |

Both
It's more of a mobility thing. Some call it Primal Flow. Basically coordinating your body through various movements. I guess it's a sort of a fast yoga. |

Honestly, and this will sound vain AF, it's looking the mirror and liking what I see and wanting to try and look even better.
It's also progressively getting stronger with my lifts along with being wracked with guilt if I miss a workout and don't make up for it. |

Amazing achievement.
Exercising is so important these days and too stressful relief. |

I don't get motivated by anything, each and every time I go to workout I'm trying to find any excuse not to do it but I know that the thought of doing it is waaay worse than the reality of actually doing it, 5mins into the workout and it's not so bad.
I guess the motivation would be knowing that the time I put in now will be time I get back later in life, being able to get around and function independently as an old man instead of wasting away. |

At the moment I'm injured again, so I can't lift at all, so I have 0 motivation to do cardio in the gym.
However when I'm lifting, my motivation is 3 things, I think.
Making the number bigger. Be that the total tonnage (combined kg of the set/day), the total of a lift, the distance of a farmers, hell depending what I'm doing can even time for an eccentric movement, but it's pushing the numbers up.
Second while I'm in the gym and timing my lift, or focussing on muscle contraction, bracing, there is no room for anything else, so it clears my head. But of a mental health one maybe.
Thirdly, I actually have time to listen to music without being in a rush for something else haha. |

I don't workout.
I just go climbing regularly, ride my bike around town, and do some basic calisthenic exercises at home.
I do it because I like feeling capable, I like having control over my body.
Plus it keeps my body toned and my bum feeling bouncy |

Mental health and at 40 my body started to look like a melted candle.
Just been for a lunch time run and will do free weights to metal later and climb Thursday. I feel so much more confident and better in myself if I do. Even switched to a more physical job.
Sex is also better when you got good cardio! |

Hey shag I realised a long time ago motivation isn’t a good thing to live by, it just comes and goes.
I train because I love it, no goals or expectations just the activity itself is enough of lifting heavy weights, boxing, running or swimming
If you do things purely for their own sake you won’t struggle |

When I was doing strongman I loved it, I used to ache every damn muscle in body. Just when you thought you was used to it and would be ok, you moved from a farmers walk to a yoke walk and hit all new muscles hahah.
I didn't need motivation, I loved it, loved the sport. If you watch the world's strongest man qualifiers, when they are in Manchester for 2020 I think, you might see someone who looks like me haha.
But absolutely you have to find a sport you love.

I was scrolling down to say a similar sort of thing, i do it because 1) first and formost, my
children, its a healthy image for a child to see, grow up and try and replicate, hopefully do
Better 2) in the long run you, you will live longer than your average joe's and couch potatoes
Thus spending more overall time with your loved ones
3)use muscle, or lose muscle, that is the only to options USE or LOSE a lot of people for get your heart is a muscle too, as long as that is beating, your living!!
Everyone should work out

Nothing atm, my boots have been hung up, so no more Saturday football. Even signing up to London to Brighton in Sep hasn't kicked me back into gear, debating joining a triathlon club to see if that helps. |

I have only just started working out again and I have a long way to go right now so it’s all about the small goals for me.
Just finding the time and determination to actually go and exercise is a big step, after that I get motivation from seeing all the tracking data from my watch and knowing that I’m on the road to getting fit again. |

Its something I've always done, from gym running boxing to horse riding.
It definitely helps staying healthy and happy.
Have always helped people if they have ever asked to come training with me or if looking to start for the first time.
It's never to late to start, even just a few minutes and build it up from there. |

Keeps me sane. Just me pushing me, nothing else matters in that moment. I get lost in time, my mind clears I feel powerful and after calm. Training has never judged me and has just always been there for me welcoming me in..all the Xmases alone the gym was there saying , welcome brother come on in. |

I am really, really struggling at the moment. I need to get into an exercise routine that I enjoy. Fitness classes work best for me, but I just need to make a start.
I have a serious lack of self confidence and quite daunted at the thought of turning up to do exercise at this moment in time. Help! |

I enjoy it (mostly). I like the routine*. I've enjoyed learning new skills (took up Olympic Weightlifting), and like getting better/stronger with my lifts. My spreadsheets please my inner pedant.
*routine is a double-edged sword for me as I can be very hard on myself if I have to upset my routine for any reason/miss a workout... |

Workouts outside in a wooded area, that the Japs call, Forest Bathing, is the most therapeutic way to increase my aerobic fitness.
I spent over three hours outside, working out and also met some interesting folk too.
Personally, gyms bore me. |

Simply because l get complete satisfaction in knowing it's great for me both physical and mentally,l know what's good for me and reach that level ,if l don't feel good at the start l simply stop ,l listen to my body all the time , it's the best judge |

Mental health and to de-stress from work.
Plus got a long distance walk in a few weeks so getting 3-4 5k runs in each week with a decent incline to prepare and that gives me the motivation to get my arse in gear. |

Pfft, I don't know. Maybe because I enjoy the working out I do. But I don't work out in the gym, or with exercise sessions or weights etc. I genuinely loathe that and find it so boring. But finding something you love is super motivating I suppose. I walk a lot, and that's my main form of working out. But I don't do it to work out I do it because I enjoy it if that makes sense?
I'd like to find some other forms of exercise that I enjoy as I do like the change in my body with weight loss. I'm thinking of pole classes or maybe swimming sometime later in the year. |

I don't work out as such but I excersice to stay fit and healthy and to try and slow down the aging process.
I also feel so much better mentally as well, after a session. Met a friend last week who I hadn't seen for three years and she kept saying how well I looked. Things like that keep me motivated. |

Some disease/malfunction of this body that I still inhabit is going to get me eventually, but I want to extend my healthspan for as long as possible.
Workouts appear to keep this complex machine in better order, than when sitting at home watching TV and aimlessly eating.
The opportunity to meet interesting and articulate folk who are also working out is an added bonus. |

It makes me feel good, it establishes discipline, and it’s just about the most scientifically proven method of dealing the onset of age-related decline.
Also it lets me take saucy profile pics. |
