"Going to start with Adele, I know everyone is going to say how popular she is etc, but I just don't like her voice or the song's I'm afraid."
Would you honestly say she's worse than say someone like Samantha Fox who can barely sing? |

Usually when I don’t like certain music I can still understand why it’s popular but I just don’t get why anyone would buy her music. |

His brother is worse. The only thing more appalling than his inability to sing anything in tune was the behaviour of some of his audience- dirty bastards! |

-I don't know what people think is wrong with him. You either like that type of urban soul or you don't. Unlike Sheeran there is nothing to pull in his lyrics (ie they have dramatic content and are not just bland love abstractions), and he can certainly sing. Although is voice will not be for everyone I suppose. pt |

What does gammon have to do with you accidentally misgendering Sam Smith? Just take the L, it was a genuine mistake and why you can’t just acknowledge it is beyond me.
I dislike him because his music is godawful, and he’s cringe…couldn’t make it any clearer tbh. Probably the same for the rest of the peeps that aren’t fans. |

"Elton John- attention seeking old drama queen "
Yes he is, but still he’s fundamentally a terrific musician. One of the few pop artists who’s enjoyed the benefit of gaining a solid classical piano technique at conservatoire level. It has served him well and instantly puts him head and shoulders above most others, including those, like Mika, who bailed out of conservatoire early and never properly finished their training. |

On the Adele question, here’s a great example. Listen to her singing live on Ellen. A nice, simple, well-played piano accompaniment but Adele’s frequently out of tune and often with strange choices of vowel sound which many other singers would avoid. Her closing up on a very tight ‘oo’ sound on ‘You’ is just one example.
https://youtu.be/G5pBU4UhgFk
Now, hear that same downbeat song, which frankly I find dull and boring, reimagined live by Bruno Mars and his team of phenomenal musicians. Damn, what a difference! It’s not just the extra instruments that make a difference, it’s what they do - the richness of the harmonies, Mars’s perfectly judged melodic decoration, the flawless ensemble and the richness of musical imagination which transforms this from a dull, average song relying on basic root position chords into an engaging song full of rhythmic, harmonic and melodic diversity and energy.

Surely it’s someone nobody had ever heard of who has consistent failed spectacularly to form any sort of musical impression on anyone?
Everyone mentioned so far is a success, in their own way, right, by way of being famous for their art?
