Who jumped at alert

"I thought it would be louder. Wasn't too bad, but why was the voice American?
I didn’t get a voice, am I going to die?
I just got a tone too "
I didn't get one, but my husband's phone vibrated, got an awful siren like tone for a bit, then an American woman telling us not to worry as it was a test. |

"There was a voice?
I just got the alarm and turned it off
But I do have the sound off on my phone.
"
That's why, you shut it off before it had chance for the voice to start.
I was waiting, hoping it repeated the alert but no, one set of tones, the voice then silence |

Didn't hear it. Busy making a noise at band rehearsal. However, one of the guys recorded the rehearsal on his phone so that we can learn from our mistakes and his phone recorded the warning over one of the songs. |

"What alert? I have a notification that I had a text or something!
It was in my pocket, I ignored it like I ignore most texts. "
It's a test of the new government national alert system. Floods, storms, Putin having a tantrum that sort of thing |

"Didn't get one either
Me neither, and I'm in a 4g area"
Has there been official mention that it only works with 4G and above?
I started coming to that conclusion when only my most recent phone got the message. |

I was in a cafe and phones started going off everywhere, I seriously thought we were under attack. If others weren’t so calm our table was definitely getting launched through the window |

"
It comes in the form of trying to copy your profile photo and failing....epically |

Apparently uses Vodafone or O2, depending where you are, so you should have received it unless you deactivated the alerts. We're on O2 and both got it. |

I’m on Vodafone, but I thought it was irrelevant what one you’re on as they were just going to do it like the 999 calls that use any network. |

Apparently the whole 3 network didn't get it, for reasons unknown. |

My phone vibrated and made a weird siren sound I just deleted it and carried on with my day.
Now if it was a nuclear warning there is fuck all we can do, if it is an alien invasion there is fuck all we can do, if it's a flood we can easily clean up afterward, if it's windy put your clothing out to drying if it too strong bring your clothing in. This emergency alert on the phone is basically designed to scare and control people only the weak-minded will fall for it. If you're concerned that much start prepping buy bulk food bottles of water extra clothing and in secret a gun. |

"yes I jumped, message was in Welsh so I could not have read it anyway, I think there was an English translation somewhere "
turns out they had mis spelled the Welsh message so even Welsh speakers could not fully understand it |
