Let's talk coffee. We have a Jura bean to cup machine and while it was ridiculously expensive it has paid for itself in caffeine-based happiness.

We were given a nespresso milk frother which works just like a velvetiser. I hot chocolate.

I use something called a clever dripper for my coffee making needs and love Central American coffees from El Salvador, Honduras etc. At the minute I have a natural processed coffee from Burundi which I'm enjoying a lot |

I love a PSL. Or a caramel machiatto with all the cream. But I also like just an espresso sometimes. Not espresso martinis anymore though. They're delicious but make me vomit.

I gave up buying expensive machines as was a ball ache waking up to realise I was out of beans, grounds or pods so these days unless I'm out it's just plain old Aldi instant for me.

Conflicted now. One, because I'm rejoicing in the confession that you enjoy a flavoured latte occasionally. Two, my whole post was gently teasing you and now I feel bad because you're so genuinely lovely.
I do love PSLs. Love a double espresso with brown sugar so it cara_elises perfectly. I was a coffee snob, now I can't really drink it. At one point when I was site based I'd have six espressos a day. And two vanilla lattes. |

I love my coffee. I baulk at my monthly credit card statement at the eye-watering amount I spend on coffee — Flat White or a spartan Filter Coffee/Americano.
And yet I don't have a 'proper' coffee machine at home. I know I should but I just feel that a cup of coffee expertly made with care, at home, by me, definitely isn't going to taste the same unless it's made by someone else (at Caffé Nero™).
Therefore I make do with my trusted French Press (Cafetière). I'm happy with single origin or a blend — as long as it tastes exceptionally exquisite.
As for PSL - Pumpkin Spiced Latte and anything else of similar revolting ilk: you could throw at my genteel feet the most beautiful lubricious siren but I won't make love to her if she drinks that muck.

Don't get me started on printers....
I've gone through over a dozen in the last ten years. And finding decent third party ink is more trouble than finding decent coffee beans any day of the week.....

It's my secret guilty pleasure but as long as you know what you like, that's all that matters. I'm in a fun rabbit hole at the minute and always trying to figure out the best way to get the best taste out of my coffee but sometimes, it's nice to just enjoy it without wondering how it could be better |

Julie made a strong start to thread with her talk of a Jura machine at home. If you’re going to go for a bean to cup machine, the Jura is a strong choice! Proper stuff.
I’m a lot like Brother Nero in that I know I can’t hope for the espresso of my dreams at home. Not unless I’m prepared to spend the price of a decent car on a coffee machine. (I’ve considered it, I’ll admit.) So at home I stick to filter. I’ve got a good grinder from a posh Scandinavian company and a nice ceramic pour over.
But beans … well that’s where variety comes in. I like to mix it up from bag to bag. So long as it’s dark roast with a hint of ash to the flavour, I’m happy. And I’ll drink it black as night with a drop of honey, thanks. |

Coffee like beer can get a bit up its own arse.
I see people spending £20+ for 90g of coffee. I'm sure it's excellent. But get a fucking grip.
Personally I like a Brazilian or Ethiopian coffee in general.
My go to daily is losbergs Brazilian.
If I feel a little flush I might splash out £8-9 for a coffee from a local roaster in the local "hippy/artisan" shop.

I've been on it for years so it's hard to say. It's Has Bean In My Mug - a lot of safe options but also some sensational unusual coffees. If I had to narrow it down to countries, I'd say I look forward to Kenya and Bolivia the most. Any roaster definitely has a style, but for a subscription like this, you get a good variety within that style. |

They've become prohibitively expensive since I bought mine - but have you seen the Espro press? Microfilter cafetiere
I've been down the rabbit hole of coffee and have settled on the Aeropress for how I make my coffee 99% of the time - a good balance between the body of a cafetiere and the delicateness you can find in a pour over |

Unfortunately, I have been medically advised to drink de-caff for the time being
I don't think there as many options with de-caff so ATM, I am kinda drinking what I'm given |

Freshly roasted and ground. Plenty of roasters around bristol to get supplies from.
The chain/brand stuff is boring, get freshly dealt with beans and sure you might only get a few cups that taste the same, but they will get the most from the harvest |

Ahhh I used to sell a lot of these, top tip - descale twice as often as the manual says, keep your grind heads free of the natural oils produced and the grind should be circa 30g throw.
If you're near Colne (where Jura are based) just after boundary mills is a little company called Stafco, they do some amazing coffee which is perfect for the F/C90 models....

I've been on it for years so it's hard to say. It's Has Bean In My Mug - a lot of safe options but also some sensational unusual coffees. If I had to narrow it down to countries, I'd say I look forward to Kenya and Bolivia the most. Any roaster definitely has a style, but for a subscription like this, you get a good variety within that style."

My velvetiser is awesome . Vanilla white chocolate with coconut milk.
We were given a nespresso milk frother which works just like a velvetiser. I hot chocolate.
Also glad I previewed this post. A milf frother is a very different thing

Im in between preston/blackpool and lancaster, the water is good but find the juras scale quicker than machines like the expobar, wmf and cimbali even in a domestic setting where usage is generally less.... x |
