Some are nicer than others, disappointing in some hotel's breakfast, I reckon they are tinned.
Mr thought he could forage for them and ended up giving his sister food poisoning, she was off work for 3 day's being sick. |

I hated mushrooms as a child but like them now. I like the different texture they add to a stir fry. Plus, if you chop them really small you can add them to various meals without the children noticing |

Yes my Bolognese is full of invisible mushrooms and the kids don't expect a thing. |

Hiding vegetables is an art form. The only difficulty is convincing them they do really like onions actually, as they eat them in pretty much every meal. They never believe it. |

Lovely big field mushrooms just been picked. My grandad used to take me first thing in the morning and we would pick them for breakfast Some the size of dinner plates. I used to know all the fields where the mushrooms grew |

Chestnut mushrooms. Cut into quarters and slowly fry with garlic in twice as much butter than you think is acceptable. Keep going until all the water is gone. Serve with a 20oz steak. |

Stuffed with soft cheese, garlic, chilli and tomato. Ribbed in garlic oil and roasted
Finely sliced, slowly cooked in garlic and cream with lots of black pepper and crispy bacon bits, and a thick slice of toast. |

Ummm where do I start, living in the new forest area growing up and knowing loads of farmers so having access to their fields I used to pick different mushrooms for um different reasons! I have so many stories it’s unreal. But luckily I grew up and now stick to store bought button mushrooms!

Every September before dawn broke, hit the farmers fields in South Wales, picking until our carrier bags were full. Head home and dry them out for 24hrs and then make rancid tasting tea out of them and drink a couple of mugs each with the boys and let the substance take its effect..googly eyed for hours with grins like Cheshire cats all night
Good memories |
