Had my daughter over for tea

Fillet steak and mash

According to her and she’s said the same since she was 9

“Fillet rare please Dad”

Cooked to 48c internal temperature then rested.

"Well done, I hate blood/redness in food"

You see, this is me, I like a well done steak but when I go out for meals with friends I get castigated for ordering well done.

The other thing that REALLY fucks me off is when the kitchen people send it out , medium at best , then when I ask for it to be sent back they say, the chef doesn’t do them any more well done than this, fucking boils my piss, WHY DID YOU ASK ME HOW I LIKE IT DONE IF YOU’RE GOING TO IGNORE MY WISHES.

Sorry, just needed to get that of my chest.

Rare for me. If I don't know the place, medium rare.

And medium rare for a rib eye because you have to render the marbled fat.

I have on one occasion refused to pay the bill as it was not what I ordered, you’d be surprised how fast the chef changed his mind

I just gave the full recipe and method out in the cooking thread earlier, but I like mine reverse seared, basted in butter with garlic and rosemary, and served with roast potatoes and dijon mustard on the side.

Medium rare for me, a good thick fillet is my preference

I usually get mine from a local farm shop but I've been told that Lidls grass fed steak is very good. Anyone tried it?

A medium rare ribeye or T-bone, by choice but I can usually make a decent meal out of any cut.

Depends on who is cooking it tbh. Normally I will go rare but I actually prefer blue but will only have that if I trust the person cooking

Used to be a well done fan until I went to an amazing country pub years ago and they insisted I tried it rare, and since then i always rare or medium rare if it's a fatty cut like ribeye
