"Probably straying more in to the Alt genre, but Janes Addiction have some belting tunes "
See I'm weird in that I love Strays and their latest album but find all the critically acclaimed ones too all over the place and unstructured for its own good.
Been caught stealing and stop are tuned though |

"Skid Row. "
I unearthed a Skid Row t-shirt at home recently that's 30 years old!
I started wearing it again and always get some comments.
They brought out a new album last year. It's not bad either! |

I've always viewed them as the thinking mans RHCP, they play round with form & instrumentation a little more. Also found Perry's Porno for Pyros side project rather good |

Nice! I've not listened since no Sebastian Bach. That last album was supposed to be pretty decent though so I might give it a stream. |

Chilli's formed in 82 and FNM in 83, can't remember the original singer before Mike Patton but I saw them a few times when they toured over here.
I saw the chilli's play the Astoria when they came on in luminous paint and under pants, great gig too |

I used to like wolfmother. You don't hear them much, except maybe inclusion in the odd Holywood film soundtrack. Think they're an ausie band with an old school British hard Rock vibe |

Haha I would have agreed with Bad Brains but over their career they did a couple of absolutely brilliant albums (ROIR and I also like The Quickness) but then went into a very bad space mentally, with a homophobic assault on one of their fans and I believe assaulting fans at their gigs who they thought were nazis because they had shaved heads, and their subsequent albums were/are absolutely dire to the point of being embarrassing.
But their early stuff is unparalleled greatness |

I only posted because my profile pic is me wearing a Bad Brains T shirt lol.
I think my contribution might be Power Trip who I think were just on the cusp of breaking big when their enigmatic vocalist suddenly died at a young age.
I don't have anything to do with the rock scene nowadays, I just listen at home and have little idea of who has made it big or hasn't.
I would also have said Gojira, but I think they may now be getting the attention and recognition they deserve.... If they aren't, then I say Gojira, followed by Power Trip |

HR did go through a,strange phase but that was down to his well documented brain tumour Quickness is a brilliant album and yes when they became Soul Brains the quality dipped ...but God of Love is a cracker I had the pleasure of spending time with HR and his wife Lori a couple of years ago, he is still one of my Idols even though he is so frail now |

Yeah if you have a spare 90 mins, there is a brilliant documentary authorised by HR called "Finding Joseph I" it's very interesting but sad too |

As fans of the Wildhearts and Terrorvision, both of these bands should've had greater success. Both of them are so good live.
Also bands like Royal Republic, Massive Wagons and Eureka Machines are massively under rated.

Rastafari are very old testament. The smoking comes from the bible. The not laying with men comes from the bible.
Don't know if that applies to this particular chap though. |

Well you've blocked me so I can't reply privately..it first started out when they played a gig in Texas in the early 80s..with MDC and the big boys ..the big boys singer randy biscuit turner was gay..if you Google..big boys randy biscuit turner bad brains homophobia ..you will find several articles..I don't have a problem with them being homophobic. I actually like roir and rock for light albums....I just wanted to point out the homophobia wasn't a new thing from them |

Thrice is criminally underrated for me.
Every album is class and an evolution.
They recently rerecorded (not remastered) their breakthrough album, 'The Artist and the Ambulance'. Absolutely brilliant and I recommend a listen.
