Oops, I meant mussels. Just been watching a cookery programme and realised I have not had any gor a while. Moule marinieres, lovely crusty bread, a lovely glass of muscadet and a few rays of sunshine watching the world go by.

They taste ok….to begin with at least.

The more the eat though, I feel subsequent disgust at both the taste and upon closer inspection of how they look

God no. I use them for fishing, I’d never put one in my mouth, little vaginas of nastiness. But carp seem to love them. And so do wasps. ( which does become and issue in summer)

Love them with some chilli and lemon. They are gorgeous with a white wine sauce too.

I love them in sea food stir fries with king prawns,spring onions, mushrooms,fish sauce,cashew nuts , garlic, chilli.Hope that tingles your taste buds.

No, along with all the other horrid things like snails or oysters etc.

Do you ever wonder who first thought "oooh I bet that's tasty with a dash of lemon juice" ?

These things that are so ugly and vile. And need winkled out of a clamped shell.... like, why? Zero attraction there. Zero features to make me go mmmmm mmmm mmmmmmm
