Just a quickie reminder that the new film (yes, a full length feature film!) Luther: The Fallen Sun is in cinemas from 24th February.
Even better, if you don’t wish to fork out the ticket price, it lands on Netflix on the 10th March!
Yay!
Who else is looking forward to it?

I watched it last night well most of it and I didn't actually think it was much good. Decided to turn it off and go to sleep in the end as I found I didn't care what was going to happen. I doubt I'll go back to finish it. |

"I can't wait. I love luther"
I hope you have Luther writer Neil Cross' books as they have left me shaking at the end, not just the Luther ones either, he is an amazing storyteller. |

"I just finished it
My verdict (spoiler free): Certainly not Luther’s best adventure and it absolutely required one to seriously suspend one’s disbelief in parts but it was nonetheless great to see Idris back in the iconic role; a bit like welcoming back an old friend "
I agree. Idris/ Luther was great, but the plot was iffy... |

GONE/TIMEOUT (No DMs please) |
A lot darker than I was expecting, and unbelievable scenes at tjmes, but I watched it.
(I've watched all the other series, and thoroughly enjoyed the original, so not like I was expecting cheery)

I loved the series but wasn't a huge fan of the film..
Just a bit too far fetched in places. Some scenes were gratuitously gruesome too.
Stil, it wasn't quite as bad as some shite I watch on Netflix tbf.

I watched it. I thought it was possibly the worst film of the year.
Totally unrelateable and totally unrelated to John Luther the brooding unconventional admirable character in the series.
Best actors in the film were serkis and crowler |

They always try too hard adapting TV shows to films and this is just odd, Luther is now like Batman, he can get in and out of jail in seconds and the bad guy is like a super villain...it's not the TV show we loved that was set in some reality |

Who is it that demands "we have to go bigger, I want epic car crashes, fights with twenty hardened criminals at a time, divers, helicopters and mega villains" - why do they think that's what we want?
I never wanted Idris Elba to be James Bond as he's too good an actor, but now he's sold himself out for this shite. |

was really disappointed by the film That the writing was terrible...as was the direction... and Andy Serkis looked like Barry manilow and I just couldn't take him seriously... |

"What an awful film, and no Alice. "
Nell and I are huge Luther fans and we were really excited to see the film.
Imagine our disappointment upon discovering what a huge pile of turd it turned out to be.
Such a waste of an amazing cast and no Alice. |

I noticed a lot of James Bond references during this movie, maybe he was trying to answer the Will he be the next bond question?
it was a sad movie with no direction such a shame. |

I was hoping that the full series was on Netflix too so I could rewatch….I can’t remember if I watched all the seasons or if I missed the last one!
But it’s been so long since I watched it, may check out the movie….assuming it can be watched as a stand-alone for those who haven’t seen the series |

Yes it can definietly be watched as a stand alone, I enjoyed it but didn't think it was anywhere near as good as the tv series. |

And I hope he's paid his ULEZ charge and last he must be fucking freezing walking around in all that snow with just a shirt and jacket. |
