Somewhere In The Ether…

Good folks; Which do you find more disturbing/scary: Horror films featuring supernatural antagonists (ghosts, vampires etc) or else human killers?

I like psychological horrors, so I guess I’d say humans

Humans. Jump scares get me in the moment, but nothing is scarier than potential reality in movies

Psychological horror, something that leaves you thinking about it and seeing things in the shadows

In a town full of colours

I can't watch realistic violence. That's instantly hiding behind the pillow, fingers in the ears time. Dr sleep was awful

Give me ghosts, fake gore, comedy horror anytime oh and a good old jump scare

Give me fantastical monstrosities over humans.

I wouldn't say I find either disturbing or scary, but I find the creatures more interesting on an aesthetic level and much prefer the logic and hunger of something alien to the same old human garbage.

Not to say some human ones aren't also incredibly good films.

After being teased with Psycho Pete as John Wayne Gacy at the end of that Dahmer series, I’m hoping he’s given his own series soon.

The horror we can see being done to each other is far more scary, than things that go bump in the night.

A YouTube channel that was recommended to me recently was about Mexican Cartels, the torture they inflicted on one of their own, when he tried to takeover the operation is beyond brutal.
