History and it's mainly because I had a genuinely awesome teacher. There was no wasted motion in his lessons and he just knew how to explain things concisely that made thing stick. If every teacher was like him, I probably would've actually enjoyed school. |

I loved English, then Music & Drama next equally.
A sadistic, misogynistic, bully of an “teacher” ruined English for me for 2 years so Music & Drama it was. He then took over the Drama department…. |

History, Drama and Physics.
Oldly enough I had no intrests in the other sciences and my biology teacher band me from his lessons. We did not get on one bit. To be fair he was a bit of a knob and my big Brother (filling in for my dad who died a few months before) was very close to punching him in the face at parents evening. He was taking the Mick out of my spelling (I'm dyslexic). He was mocking me because I'd spelt Girls as Grils (although I do wonder if this was dyslexia or just symptomatic of always having food on the brain).
To be fair I only ever applied myself to these three subjects and also the planning and building of an alarm system circuit in systems and control. But couldn't abide all the nonsense course work that came with the GCSE. I took no intrest in other classes. I would just day dream or be disruptive and/or make no effort. I also spent some of my time in a special needs class which didnt know what to do with me. So naturally school was generally discouraging.
Hence my GCSEs were a mixed bag of results at both ends of the scale. Luckily I didn't bother with futher education or job seeking. I took myself down to the Armed forces careers office and did their tests. As a result of my score all trades were open to me and I had a successful military career in electronic engineering (which totally floated my boat). From there a successful civilian career. I guess school isn't for everyone. |

Geography was my best subject
Teacher used to take us out at least once a week on field trips to study the river
Great in the summer
Not so great on a rainy cold day as at least 2 of us had to go in to get the depth speed width etc…. |

Art and English literature.
Loved reading out loud when we did Shakespeare and various others, always got lost in books when I was young and it just got better through school.

History! He made it so interesting i genuinely loved that subject and music too. My History teacher was lovely! Was the only one to tell bullies to leave me alone, i'll never forget him or his kindness. |
