Somewhere In The Ether…

So, to recap and in chronological order, the old lady who was presumably suffering from the psychological condition known as, Pica, ingested:

A fly, a spider, a bird, a cat, a dog, a cow and a horse before finally succumbing, most likely due to catastrophic internal damage.

What a delightful children’s song eh?

I get it up to the dog, but what cow eats dogs or was it just meant to chase it round a bit (in her tummy)

That’s a good point; surely the old lady would have been better served by swallowing an angry farmer brandishing a shotgun to take care of the the mutt….

"No, she died before she could tell anyone "

Surely not before she “could” tell anyone - she had ages, but just continued guzzling away

Did it help?

Actually, this could be a great idea for a new thread; bizarre and random song choices when giving birth…

"1953 by Burl Ives on Brunswick Records"

I just looked him up; he was also an actor with a multi decade spanning film career

Alas…he sadly passed away some years back, taking the story behind this curious song with him

There was an old lady who lived in a tent.

Rent was too high, landlord said bye.
