We all exist.
We all live in a giant petri dish, in some alien school biology lab, being studied by alien students.
At some point one of them will overwind the microscope dial, crush the petri dish and the universe will come to an end......

If we all existed in different points in time it would explain all the threads you see about people being stood up and all the no shows.
