It's obvious these days when someone uses auto-tune and software to correct a dodgy voice.
But there's been plenty of big name acts over the years that when you listen back now really couldn't carry a note. Some are actually painful to listen to.
Just listening to 'Wonderwall' and fuck me Liam Gallgher was shit.
Any other notable gems you can think of?

"4 out of 5 Spice Girls.
Which 1 do you think can actually sing really curious about your answer "
Sporty could hold a note and had a short solo career. The rest were awful. |

Obviously, it's all subjective, but I think Liam has an incredible voice!
My favourite artist of all time is Bob Dylan. Now that's someone who cannot sing! |

"Bob Dylan.
Brilliant lyricist but…..
i was gonna say, Bib.
truth is though few can cover one of his songs and get a pass from me.
Hendrix, adelle, axle rose... did i miss any?"
It's fair to say you probably missed LOADS!
I heard a stat once, that I cannot fully remember now. It was along the lines that Dylan has never achieved the chart success that those who cover him have.
I rest happy safe in the knowledge that I routinely hear an amazing artist and can immediatley tell that Bob was an influence. I'm not sure many could top him in that chart. |

"Tom Grennan.
He's amazing!! Going to see him in March."
He did a live performance at a boxing event and he was awful. Out of time and somehow managed to murder his own songs. I didn’t actually mind him until then. |

Elvis Costello sounds like he's suffered extreme brain injury at some point that severely impacted his speech centre- utter bollocks!
Pretty much any rapper- its just chatting shit over a drum beat or some music you stole off a proper musician.
Saw Paul McCartney live a few years ago- all the wrong notes and most of them in the wrong order too |

A few surprises here!
Sam Smith? I really like his voice and his duet with John Legend on 'Lay Me Down'gives me goose pimples.
And Rihanna will always have a special soft spot in my nutsack.......

Honorary mention to Jason Williamson from the Sleaford Mods.

I disagree, he barely sings but when he does it’s in tune - listen to the chorus of Face to Faces, particularly the word ‘Alive’ |

Paloma Faith - lovely eccentric loon of a woman. Vocals not on point for a while now.
Cher…. Mark Knopfler ( but that’s just his style) Ian Gillan ( Deep Purple) Jon Bon Jovi .. he was shocking recently. |

Sam smith - basically same as above "

I don't know. I prefer a real human voice to something that's been autotuned (as 99 % of music is these days, regardless of genre). Mark Knopfler was hardly a great singer but it worked for his music. Heck, David Bowie was hardly an amazing vocalist but I love his music and his voice. |

I actually like auto tune vocals in some musical genres.
It's used like an instrument. Not much different to when stevie wonder was singing with that vocal warping tube in his mouth 40 years ago. Nowadays it's just done purely with software. |
