"We had a carpeted bathroom in the eighties and someone we knew carpeted the side of their bath. We also had a turquoise bathroom suite. When we moved into this house the kitchen was carpeted "
Sounds awesome, carpeted bath panel, what's not to like |

I remember going on a stag night night in Newcastle. We all stayed in a B&B out in Jesmond, sharing rooms to save money. So two grown men in a double bed for starters. But then, the horror. A shower cubicle in the corner of the bedroom. On the carpet. Literally just a normal bathroom shower - clear plastic sides and a clear plastic door - installed on top of the carpet in one corner of the bedroom. Black mould growing on the ceiling above it. Brown stains and wet patches on the carpet surrounding it.
What the rusty fuck were they thinking? |

Someone I knew had carpeted the side of their bath in a green carpet.
It's going to drive me mad trying to remember who it was now.
I couldn't have carpet with my son. He floods the bathroom every time he bathes or showers and can't seem to aim his pee straight |

Maybe it was the same person although this carpet was blue |

Ew no. I mean just thinking about the amount of water getting into it when people are exiting baths or showers, how long it would take to dry and it's a breeding ground for mould and all sorts of bacteria.

This was definitely green. I have a memory of light pink carpet too. It was probably the in thing back in the 70s and 80s. |

The house I lived in from age 11-18 had a carpeted bathroom and the bath side carpeted too
Grandparents bathroom was always carpet too (the same one since the 1960s and still going strong).
The only time I thought much about it was when a friend of mine puked on it, during a party. I may or may not have married said friend |

"This can't be a thing...
Oh. It was. And is
As are brown bathroom suites (Grandparents house)"
Are we sure Covid wasn't a thing back then? Because they clearly had no taste |

"This can't be a thing...
Thankfully not anymore.
It was very much a thing up to the 70s & 80s
And in grandparents homes seemingly..."
And people still yearn for these times? |

You think that's bad... I grew in the 70s with an orange and brown sofa, pink and purple wals were "a thing" and in the 80s we had a green bathroom suite. |

It's a 1960s bathroom suite. Brown sanitary ware and a light brown carpet. Brown wall tiles with pictures of birds sitting on branches (in a kind of burnt orange). I can picture it exactly in my head |

"Yay or nay good folks?
(This isn’t a coarse euphemism by the way) "
Don’t be silly. The made to measure rugs that go around the toilet and sink pedestal would look ridiculous on top of a carpet!

I really can't remember what we had as a kid but probably lino. I remember when blue/green bathroom suites where in fashion.
When I first moved to this house it was a green patterned carpet in the bathroom but it was an old lady that lived here |
