Fond memories of the 70s
Jump to: Newest in thread
I'm waaaaayyyyyy to young to remember.
But if I was of that age probably some of the following.
The Muppet show on Sunday night.
Flares, platform shoes and cheesecloth shirt's, spud gun's, playing conkers,kiss/knicker chase.
The first star wars, the Rubik's cube, the slinky, jumper's for goalposts.
Plague of ladybirds, the goodies, ABBA and Meccano set's.
Wind up Evel Knievel and the real one.
But like I said I am too young to remember any of these , just guessing

"Oh and not forgetting
The bay city rollers,I loved my jeans with the tartan down the sides"
But whose tartan did you wear?? Each Roller had their own.
My sister had the white tartan worn by Les McKeown.
Oh god, i can still remember some of the chants the fans used to sing. |

And Mervyn Day and Frank Lampard. We only had a b/w tele so watched it round next door on a 26” screen.
Alf G****t inspired me to become a fan. Geez life was easy back then. |

Somewhere in Co. Down |
Summers that seemed to last forever.
Getting loads of sweets and crisps with 10p in the shop.
Waiting to watch the Muppets on telly.
Learning to ride a bike and the first time I took stabilisers off and didn't fall off felt amazing. Until I forgot to pull the brakes and ended up hitting a tree |

"No chopper for me
I had a grifter.
I had the baby Grifter. The Striker."
Strikers were fantastic, a good forerunner to BMX's. Mine was silver and I was rarely off it. Handlebar stem knackered after one too many bad landings from jumping of ramps. Had to fit cowhorns then! |
