Second time around...
I watched the nutcracker on TV yesterday. Matthew bournes production. What a load of old shite, looked like a kids TV show... What songs, films, productions have been spoiled by "reimagination" of the original.? |

The Flatliners remake was just awful. Not quite as bad as the Hellboy from a couple of years ago though - a movie utterly bereft or any redeeming features! |

"The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy was also a particularly atrocious movie too "
Not a patch on the original series. Bought the original in DVD a few months back. Might watch them again whilst I'm off over Christmas

"Ghostbusters.
Yes and I wish I'd never watched the new Point Break "
I was just about to suggest the Shaft remake.
And The Magnificent Seven
But god, Point Break was truly woeful |

"At the risk of sparking controversy,
The Lord of the Rings films.
I thought they were dull the first time, fell asleep i the cinema for LOTR1 and didn't bother with the rest "
For me, the films didn't do justice to the books.
They could have left out all the extra nonsense they added that wasn't in the books and included the bit about the Hobbits meeting Tom Bombadill. |

James Bond as to me they have sucked all the life and fun out of the series that made it successfully.
They turned James Bond from a guy who was a womaniser, gambler, excelled at all sports, quick witted and had luck of the devil and who actually enjoyed his job of taking down evil world dominating sadists into a tired, depressed faded version of himself who was more in touch with his feelings than the thrill seeking adrenaline junkie that made him so popular. |

Agreed. Glad Daniel Craig's Bond is dead |

Some film remakes already mentioned. I'll add Robocop, which added special effects but just totally missed the point. War of the word remake was also a bit awful. Point Break remake, already mentioned, but bad enough to deaerve another moan. |

The BBC did an adaptation of Dracula around this time a few years ago. I watched 10 minutes of it and turned it off. Dreadful. I just wanted a really good adaptation of the book. |

there are lots of films of books and remakes of films that are crap.
The Running Man has nothing to do with the Stephen King story, and the reamke of Total Recall which was much closer to the original story wasn't as good as the Arnie version |
