According to Google there are atleaast 100 million planets in our milkyway galaxy. I wouldn't like to bet against there being life closer than you think. |

We will find life on a planet and on our solar system, micro organisms of some type, gotta be something from the gases mixing and things that go on our there  |

At points I think Mars once supported life, and I think one of moons of Saturn is believed to have large subterranean oceans, and where there is water there is likely to be life.
So in our own galaxy there could be/has been life on other planets/moons
As for life beyond The Milky Way; there must be, the universe is so large that the set of circumstances required to create life must have happened elsewhere |

Yes. I totally do.
But, for those interested go take a look at the “Fermi Paradox.” There’s an interesting channel on you tube - kurzgesagt - who can describe the whole principle in a family friendly way with out being condescending. |

A planet populated by dinosaurs. I'd love to see that.
People often talk about there being planets with much more intelligent life forms than us, but I think that wouldn't be the case for the majority of inhabited planets. |

People often talk as if other life forms would be better than us and more peaceful too. No idea why.

I'm not religious, and I don't have any other radical beliefs, however I am 100% convinced that not only does life exist on other planets, but they've been interacting/interfering with us for millenia. I even believe a lot of that extra terrestrial life may have originated from here. |

I don't know, but I think it's hard to rule out.
I don't believe there are little green men buzzing around Earth in UFOs, but would be arrogant to assume we are the only life in the enormity of the universe. |

Yes of course. When you start getting in to astronomy and understanding the sheer size and scale of the universe, and the potential for other lifeforms to exist, you realise the chance of other lifeforms NOT being "out there" is ridiculously close to zero.
We focus on carbon-based lifeforms, as that's all we know, however that excludes many other possibilities (dimensional beings being one example).
Delve in to "quantum entanglement" and theoretical astrophysics and you'll start to question "reality" as well. |

There either is, or there isnt. Either of this is equally mind boggling...
One thing that is rarely discussed is how sci-fi starships detect life. There is real world discussion on how star treks warp drive works, but none that I have seen on just how they detect life signs from orbit. |

There's a given understanding that alien visitors would need interstellar-capable craft to leave their world and visit ours and others. We see it all the time in movies. Big ships, little ships, and everything else inbetween. Some use wormholes to bend space-time, others have warp-capable drives, yada yada yada.
However, one area not covered nor considered much is intra-dimensionality.
You don't need a ship, or anything else for that matter, if you can naturally traverse dimensions.
It does make me wonder if some "ghostly sightings" are intra-dimensional travellers. Note I said some. It's a bit harder to explain when it's reported Uncle Fred was on a sojourn, because that veers in to other territory probably even stranger than quantum mechanics.
We do know however that space-time does break down, and with it the laws of physics (as we understand them). Black holes (and theoretically white holes) attest to that quite demonstrably. |

The first hurdle is what you define as "life" but given the sheer number of galaxies out there simple mathematics yields there either must have been, currently is, or will be "life" out there. |

Well seen as every Star is a sun with it own orbit, my guess my it’s highly unlikely that we are alone, but then again conditions for life to form must be perfect, there are certain elements you need. So who knows I guess the only way we’ll ever know is if we see it for ourselves.

I hope we dont find out until the hunan race has grown up a lot more. Sad fact is, based on history and how we have treated indiginous peoples on our own planet, we'd want to take thier plabet away from them.

No there's many more planets older than Earth.
Scientists believe that Jupiter is the oldest planet in out Solar System.
But the oldest planet that we know of (believe to be) is around 12.7 billion years old |

The James Web Space Telescope is able to analyse the absorption spectra of the atmosphere of Exoplanets… basically, it can tell what molecules are in the atmosphere of planets in other solar systems, it recently proved that photochemistry is occurring in the atmosphere of gas giant Wasp 39b and will therefore be able to detect if the conditions for life exist on other planets, possibly even detecting atmospheric chemistry that can ONLY be caused by life |
