Good folks: Indonesia has apparently just passed a law making it a criminal offence to engage in sex outside of marriage(!!!)
This law will also extend to tourists visiting as well, with penalties of up to a year in jail for anyone caught bonking out of wedlock.
Unmarried couples will also be banned from living together and doing so will be punishable by up to six months in jail(!!!)
You heard it here first good folks
(remember this if you decide to visit) |

"What is the intent, is it to increase families +children? Or to reduce children?
What happens to people having affairs - technically they are married "
That’s a good point I think it’s a forced enforcement of values as the new law/s also include harsh punishments for both blasphemy and additionally any advertising of contraception |

That is not the only thing proposed it will also now be a criminal offence to criticise the President or vice president.
This new law will also directly impact same sex couples as they can not legally marry. This law basically outlaws same sex sex.
It seems to me lots of countries seem to be going backwards rather than forwards. |

I can "kinda" understand. In a distant sense.
Mental health issues, diagnosing of ADHD, etc has risen exponentially. Yes, that's because more people are aware and know what to look for.
It's becoming known that these things stem from dissociation and in a lot of cases abandonment issues as a bambino when the brain is developing and learning how to "cope". So what begins as a coping mechanism becomes a trait and part of us as we grow.
That can come from a zillion different scenarios in every common life. One parent families. Families where parents are working all hours just to keep a roof over their heads and not spending enough developmental quality time with said bambino, the list is endless.
If they were doing what they thought would help future generations and the family unit I could "kinda" understand. Sadly I doubt that is their motivation and a lot of it will be based on bigotry, plus how many family units of old were held together by fear, violence and secret affairs, none of which are healthy environments for anyone, especially children to live in? Too fucking many. |

I *think* it's only illegal if a patent, child, or spouse complains. I recall there was something that made me think it was less risky for tourists than it first looked.
They've tried this before too irrc |

Dubai & Nottingham |
Common in many Muslim countries. But it’s not driven by religion. They look at us with all our crime, mental health issues and problems and choose stability and cohesive structures over individualism / expression.
Dubai will be interesting over the next few years as it changes , I’ve just picked up my tourist code of conduct for alcohol consumption as a non Muslim it’s allowed and Ramadan is almost non existent last few years |

Having spoken to someone who lives there .... The unofficial view is "don't sleep with the locals".
However it feels a step backwards so people are wondering what is next. |
