Is there anything about my profile that is confusing people? I like to think it is pretty clear what I prefer.

I dont want to block single guys, because I occassionally like to chat about nothing in particular, and I enjoy people answering when I post thought provoking questions in my status.

But seriously, it is getting tiring getting the mails all the time. Especially the ones that clearly dont read my profile at all.

I will pass on the insight a kind stranger once gave myself. Your first line states you are "Looking for women first and foremost". But then you dedicate most of your text to men, how you don't want them or how you want them and what they should expect or not expect and how they should behave should they contact you. You are addressing men way more than women.

Yes it's true that no matter what disclaimers you write you'll still get men approaching for meets, get dickpics and "meet now" requests. So why dedicate so much space on these disclaimers. Edit out what you don't want from the people you don't want to meet, it's simply irrelevant. Leave what describes yourself and what you are looking for. Re. men for example, what you wrote in your OP (that you're not looking for men but enjoy contact hence not blocked, and that you don't appreciate dick pics - that's like three lines tops!) is much more helpful to someone who reads profiles than the numerous admonitions.

Yes, your looking for and your message filters are two different things. If you untick looking for men, you won't be on men's feeds or they in yours. Men will still browse by through their own searches, who's near, the forums. But you won't get a barrage of messages every time you post a status update eg. Try it and see - I think you'll be bored with the silence! Unpopular opinion but single men make this site go round.

Why not filter out some of the people you don't want to hear from ?.I block newbies ,no public pics ,certain ages and couples ,in the hope I'll get more contact from people I do want to chat to.

It's not foolproof ,but reduces my mail.

Exactly this, if it happens to me, you have no chance of stopping it happening to you unless you change filters. I vary between frustration and relief that this type of fabber has shown me they aren't for me.

Whilst it is free, and you don’t have to properly verify it will just get progressively worse. Just accept what it is, delete and block and look out for the decent approaches.

Is there anything about my profile that is confusing people? I like to think it is pretty clear what I prefer.

Right at the top of my profile text it clearly states ‘no straight guys’ I even added a please.

But I still get messages from straight guys.

No doubt straight guys get messages off TV’s or Gay/ Bi guys as well, so it’s a problem most of us have.

But on the plus side I imagine there’s a lot of people on here who do read profiles, so that’s a bunch of messages you’re not getting.

The only thing that I would say is that if they than the “not meeting now” at the top, a chap may read between the lines that although they are not your preferred choice, they may have a chance.

Unfortunately even those that do take the time to read a profile will interpret any openings to their advantage unless specifically stated otherwise

Other than that I don’t think it’s confusing at all.
