I want to be but my mother is expecting me to go and stay with them. Not looking forward to it as I hate this time of year and she's a very difficult woman to be around x |

I spent last Christmas alone. Although neighbours I saw couple of times and female friend messaged me every few hours . This year looks like the same.
Another friend said about going away. To me if on own means meals etc are when hotel say etc. If I am at home . Yes I can cook well . So can have food when I want and as in own home. Have my comforts etc.
Yes would enjoy being with others at Christmas. Few years ago when family alive. Cooked Christmas and Boxing day meals for eight people. |

I will be alone. My shift pattern has worked out in a way that I’m not able to make it back home to be with family. Still love Christmas though, so I’d be celebrating alone and video calling family, unless Santa bring me a partner to wake up next to |

I'll be on my own again this year. Not an unusual occurrence for me. Was thinking of going away to do Christmas markets somewhere in Europe but flights are really pricey this year and I just can't justify the cost. |

Yes for the first time I will be spending Christmas alone. I’m looking forward to it in a weird kind of way, but I will get out of the house for a long walk then cook myself a Christmas lunch for one before doing what the rest of the nation does, slump in front of the TV. |

Personally o dislike Christmas and would treat it as just another day.
I wonder though if the net result for everybody is more happy or sad.
Lots of unrealistic expectations are dashed and lots of people feel lonely or that they’re missing out on something amazing somewhere.
Others get more material things and get to have a fight with family members though. |

Oh yes.. I remember the family quarrel lol I still got family members not talking to each other because of a game of monopoly lol in hindsight, I think something deeper must of happened but still, couldn't quite process what was going on at the time. Families are complicated sometimes |

Yeaaap just me and my dog this year
It’s ironic because I’ve always taken in anyone who was on their own and invited them to dinner! Hopefully I’ll find somewhere that will be open and go out.
It’s pretty shit, but at least I know I’m not the only one now x |

Anyone who is alone and doesn't want to be, perhaps register now at a local nursing or residential home to become a volunteer helper over Christmas.
Or even in the community many old folks alone would love some company even if it's a quick cuppa and a mince pie. |

Not my favourite either. I had a better time by myself at home when we were in lockdown Xmas 2020! Pretty much says it all |

There are places if you felt like it you could go and be around others. I'm likely to be helping at the local village hall where they are are feeding everybody who would like to attend.
I'm hoping there will be a really lovely atmosphere for everybody there. |

First xmas without my boy, not looking forward to it to be honest. I may visit family but that means holiday driving which isn't my favourite past-time.
I have plenty to do in a vanilla sense so will keep myself busy and will certainly be watching Die Hard at some point.
Anyone who feels lonely and wants to message or talk would be welcome to do so. |

I shall definitely be alone in the morning. My eldest daughter may come over in the afternoon. I love Christmas Day alone. I also love spending it with those I love, but alone definitely beats spending it with relatives who suck the energy from you! |

I must admit after seeing this post from others. Had not thought really about this Christmas .
So now have started Christmas list for food etc and presents to buy. This limited to one nephew and female friend , her children.
Yes would like to be like years ago with relations staying at house and cooking for them all on Christmas and Boxing days. Yes tiring to do , but seeing family and friends who came enjoy outweighs the work involved. I do admit once Boxing day meal over . Then my time to relax drink, relax |
