Standing in Screwfix waiting to collect my order guy at counter I'd say late 20's trying to chat up the rather yummy lady serving.
Now it was clear she was interested and very flirty.
She was full on fluttering her eyelids, flicking her hair all of her body language and the way she acted said.
"Ask me for my phone number"
But alas his game was shocking and maybe it was nerve's but I was cringing at his attempt to chat her up.
Once his order arrived he scampered out pretty quickly.
At which point I exclaimed " that was painful"
She laughed and said
"I know right, I couldn't have been more obvious"
We laughed,my order arrived.
We chatted some more, guess who got her phone number    |

Nice one.
There's a rather hot young lady works at my local Screwfix but she looks waaaay too young for me - though I did flirt with her a bit last time I was in there.

Can happen , maybe the guy couldn't or didn't for some reason or another, sometimes a guy can be chatted up and he knows himself that that's where it ends and may find it easier to skidattle ( escape) , who knows , maybe the guy could already being having mind blowing sex with someone else and wasn't gonna do anything to ruin that no matter how hot or horny the lady behind the counter was , or maybe he thought she was that to every customer. |

The other guy was trying and in fact if anything it was her doing the chatting up
I was an impartial observer.
On his exit i commented.
She admitted she was interested in him.
We laughed had some gentle banter I left.
I then got a semi wishing I was 24 as I'd THEN have been trying to get her number.
People really need to chill.

OP I’d be the same in RL…especially if there was a queue behind! The assistant would have had to have written their number on the receipt
