You know how it works, Fabsters, but forget all of this voting to get people OUT of the jungle malarkey, I reckon it’s more meaningful to have a vote to get people IN.

And not to the jungle either .. but back to Fab!

Who do you want to see BACK on Fab?

Maybe they’ve UNLOSed? Maybe they’ve been quietly banned (but shhh, we can’t talk about that ? Or maybe they just can’t be arsed with it all any more

The key is that we want to be ENTERTAINED, don’t we Fabsters?

So who’s got to come back to entertain the masses?

Maybe you’re a fan of City Jeans? How about Steve and his pickle? What about Scarlet Stars? Or Miss Honey? Or someone else?

For me it’s got to be Tea Bags / Grotbags / Annie Wilkes. Always forum gold and always able to divide opinion in the most entertaining of ways (although men were always mostly keen

Whatcha think to it all? Bring back Annie? I’m voting YES! Who else?

I know, I know, it’s another blow-smoke-up-people’s-arses-that-aren’t-here-any-more thread, but I know how much you love them, which is why I started it! (call it a public service from me to you)

Annie, Yasmeen and Kylie each added their dynamic that I haven’t otherwise seen.

I enjoyed Steve’s pondering pickle and ploughman’s.

Also, I miss Inconceivable as she often posted thoughts in a way that I agreed with but didn’t feel I could phrase adequately.

Jim excited my heart a little and so I’m sad he’s not about.

I can’t remember that chap’s name that was into bodybuilding, used to write his name on his cock… made a big thing about most definitely being straight and not at all bi .. then eventually admitted he was bi. And used to get into arguments over who could bench press the most? "

Nope, not naming names. I think I'd be poking a hornets nest with quite some force. Plus I wouldn't want to give them the fab fame.

I think she was pretty marmite to be honest. I know plenty who didn’t like her. I did

You just describe most people in Fab. I could name drop lots I liked and dislike. (Make and female) But it’s never going to match everyone else.

Oh definitely. I’m definitely marmite

I like marmite

I don’t "

It's a shame though as this space was always a little different.

"You know how it works, Fabsters, but forget all of this voting to get people OUT of the jungle malarkey, I reckon it’s more meaningful to have a vote to get people IN.

Do you really think that though? Acerbic in her comments and wouldn't sugar-coat no, but I think she had a tough time of it, a lot of what she said got twisted. She'd defend her stance and then get jumped on by the masses. Watching the Fab en masse jump on her the way they did was disgusting....

When the 'bullied' becomes the bully but that's OK it seems.

We all have different experiences with people and they can all be valid. Someone can be a bully to some and a good friend to others. What makes one person laugh can make another cringe.

She’s not here to read it so I’m sure it won’t hurt her feelings.

It's always funny when names are mentioned as being inclusive and lovely but I suppose that all depends on the demographic.

Not just here but in other forums the are people who are lauded as intelligent, welcoming and supportive while my personal experience of some of those both through the forums and privately is that they were anything but.

I guess they had an audience which they were happy to play to in public but couldn't maintain that outside the refines of the forum.

So to answer the op, if they're gone they're gone and good riddance to most of the names I recognise above.

Interesting opinion.

There are very few on the forums now that I know well. Even fewer that I've met F2F.

But back when we attended far more events and socials I found pretty much everyone exactly the same in person as they appeared online.

Maybe that was down to who we were meeting. Maybe it's because we didn't get involved in off site chat groups, gossip and shit stirring. Maybe it was because they actually were the same offline as on.

Maybe they were very good actors....

I'm always intrigued when I see on here claims that people are completely different in the real world and wonder if that's actually accurate or yet another example of people trying to influence the opinions and views of others about site members.

The only way to know someone is to meet them. Anything else is just speculation, rumour and gossip.

Back to the OP?

Funky, Invictus, Soxy, Sexybrain (as I did enjoy our on-site duelling) and Glosswingers spring to mind.

Somewhere in Co. Down

I don't miss anyone who left. Most come back anyhow at some point.

Some mentioned above were nasty and always attacking others especially once they had any back up. Some were twisted in the lies they told to get attention and meets until they got caught out. Some were good craic and kept the forums light and fun. Some were actually left the site because their info being shared to friends and families outside of here. Some just got fed up of it all and left for a break from fab.

But all in all it's fab and the forums and people leave and new people join and some come back again. Either way there is no one I would miss unless I knew them directly.

A"

I'm not in any chatgroups at all and haven't been for years.

I'm speaking about one to one private conversations with people from the forums who present an inclusive friendly persona when posting publicly but have completely different opinions on other forumites in private messages.

That's why I no longer chat to anyone like that because the private version is more than likely a truer version of the person behind the profile.

Accusations of external influence are always tossed about and how much of that is true I've no idea.

I can only speak about personal experience and approaches being made to those I have met asking for my personal details or fantasy tales told about my involvement on the site.

None of these were lurkers or shadow posters. They were and are very well verified profiles including some I have met face to face at socials or one to one and while the majority are exactly as they appear in their forum contributions, these particular characters were unrecognisable.

"It's always funny when names are mentioned as being inclusive and lovely but I suppose that all depends on the demographic.

Just to add, this isn't an attempt to blacken anyones name because I have never once lowered myself to their level and named anyone either here or in private.

PETE'S FINAL THOUGHT:

People come and people go. They all have their reasons - even if you don't agree with them.

Some are sad to see them go, some are happy to see them go - you can't please all of the people all of the time.

However, it's important to love the ones that are here right now. So if there's something you want to say to a forumite, then don't delay - say it today.

You might not ever get that chance again*

*Until they come back of course. They always do.

The Town by The Cross

Oh they do Pete. They do indeed come back. Some raise a wry smile whilst posting away in their absence but a nod is as good as a wink ........

Now , said the Fairy God Granny, Let that be the end of it.
